I heard they are expensive since they charge per kilo.

Aren't airlines available for such service in cheaper rate?

You do not say which country you want to send food to.
Please check (use Google) what foods are banned.
Most countries will not allow meat and some vegetables.
They WILL check your package and destry it if banned foods are in it.
Be careful and do not loose your money.

Depending on the country he is residing in, isn't it just easier for him to buy the food stuff there?

Most major cities in America and the UK have lots of Africa/Caribbean stores and even in London you have all these Asian stores that have started stocking African/Nigerian food stuff.

Will probably be cheaper and less stressful than trying to send food from Nigeria.

I know these African food stuffs are available In some countries but dey aren't in his place.

When I followed him to the airport years 3 ago, there was a Lady that sent big Ghana must go food stuffs and items with air maroc airline but she didn't board the plane. How do they do it? because I know the charges are more cheaper than dhl ups FedEx etc

shocked We thought that you meant a civilized country. grin
Not that poo hole! shocked

People possibly make a private arraignment (payment) to someone on the airplane who will hand over the bag at the other end.
It will all be about who you know in the airline.
If they are small airlines they may take freight and allow it to be collected at the other end.
You will have to ask around the airport or freight offices.

yea depends on where he is.

As has been said already on the thread saying where he is based will yield you more specific answers.

Regarding Air Maroc, best to call them to ask how much it will cost.

Hmmm....Burundi....BRB (ehmm...google...is Burundi a civilised place country?)...ok....Op... contact Air Maroc... find out if they have a freight service...if yes..find out the rate...they would charge by weight...x naira per kilo up to y kilos. Find out where the stuff is to be picked up in Burundi...office or airport. Then share the info with your friend...if it is very hard for him to get to the pick up point. ..forget the whole idea of sending stuff. The airline should be cheapest. ..then Nipost.... forget about DHL, FedEx and UPS...wayyy too expensive.
