I have been following this thread for awhile now and its really enlightening. I have some inquiries to make.
A relation of mine wants to send my aged mum and I invitation to CA. We don't have any travel history. I don't have a govt job. I have heard of Visa Interview, what is it like? Is there dress code? Is there any document I should submit? What about "Home Ties"?
I just want to accompany my aged mama for a visit and I hope to return

Still does not matter. I just returned from Canada, someone sent me an invite too. You either apply online or download the application forms, fill and print, then take to VFS to submit and do Biometric. No Interview is done, just read through the previous posts, everything you need is there

I read through from the beginning up to the last page of this thread and it's quite informative.
Am currently running my masters program in UK and intend to visit Canada on tourism base.
It is kind of confusing because am not working, my dad sponsors me...
Please what documents do I need so I don't antagonize my application?

My first application to canada for a visitor's visa was from the uk during my matsters prog years back.its quite a simple process, just go through global visas in the uk they will help u thru d process.as at then dere processing fee was 100pounds (and dats worth saving me d stress).u dont need to be working as long as u are still on a study visa.all u need do is get ur tuition reciept, a letter that u are enrolled on ur masters prog and u intend travelling to canada for a specific period.just walk up to ur international student admin dey will help wiv dat letter or direct u appropriately. U also need ur bank statement to show u av d funds to sponsor ur trip.it was a very easy ride for me back den cos global visas just gave me a list of d docs needed I sent it to dem paid my application fee and global visa processing fee and dey got the visa for me.having said all dat u can apply urself, its no biggy.

Pls can u share again. I mean the supporting documents. Is it a must u grt an invite from

Yes you can submit the form and do biometric same day, you just need to get to the VFS office early enough. No appointment is needed

Assuming I got to the Embassy say by 9am, will it be possible for me to submit my application, do biometric and still finish/leave by 12pm? How long does it take to do all these processes? I still hope to pay for courier too that same day. General advice is also
