Hello house. I am not really a fan of dropping comments here on NL but after reading this whole saga I think It would be appropriate if Acunon could either fix that TV or replace it with another one or just refund the customer. I am a video game marketer and I delivered a brand new ps4 to a customer and after 5 days this customer called me that the console is giving him issues, I asked him to bring it back to the store which we tried to fix and after 24hrs with no solutions, we had to replace it with a brand new console and ever since then this customer has given us lots of more customers which I know how much I have made just from this guy alone. I understand that the money is with you and you feel you are in control Acunon, but you are not. This customer can pursue this issue legally but I think it's better to do it right so you both can continue doing business and good reputation. Please call him/her today so you guys could come to a good agreement. Please do the right thing.

hmm.. wonders shall never end! .

So the buyer paid for a Good TV and u sent him a defective one and now you telling him to bear the loss with you. What is his f**kin business, give him his money complete.
I think you knew the TV had problems but sent it so you could do this. so bearing the loss with you means his money will no longer be complete abii. God is watching you.
That is why i keep advising people not to buy from all this Nairaland sellers with sweet mouth. If you can't find what you want on Jumia, Konga or Kayumu then go a store and get it yourself.

Been following the thread and I'm happy the acunon has come to state his side. Truth be told though seller is at fault here. Are you saying if it was cash-on-delivery you will be doing the James Bond you are doing? What stops you from building insurance and proper shipment in your final bill? Why give the customer a choice of sending it via so-called cheap courier? You can negotiate and strike a deal with GIG Logistics that will see you pay a cheaper rate compared to other consumers as long as you make them your primary logistics company. Or you do a deal with NIPOST. They also handle freight better and price fairly. Who pays 4K to ship a 175k product? You should make it compulsory for all buyers to pay insurance for goods over a certain amount.

OP, you should also take some blame. Pictures of the product as it was shipped would have made your case more believable. Also when making such expensive purchase look around in your vicinity. Sort it out amicably and both parties should go home having learnt a lesson

Mr mayor, i do not intend to hold his money. Thats why i told him to send it back to me so as we could fix or sell it off, it was the way he packed ut when arriving lagos made me think he jst want his money. When we buy this from importer, we dnt buy with guarantee or warranty they will tell you that you are responsible when any thing happens to it. Most of my pals here dnt change tvs when defective they will fight it to the end, bt i have him the assurance that either the two and we will split the cost, why opening a thread when we have concluded?

I have been using GIG, though they are highly expensive when you insure goods, i sent one yesterday a 48" to abuja which worth was 140k and th final amount to be paid was 13k, the buyer refused because it was on a high side. Thats how most ppl will feel because its expensive thats why i told him i have a reliable company i use. I took a shot of the pics which i always do whenever i want to send a package to my client n its in the front page, i dnt joke with my business.

I also sent two packages that same day, the other person bello received this Panasonic 42" i wrapped with the same condition as the op in good form. Why will i send a defective product to someone i dnt knw, and will be here to defend my self, before i send any defective product to some one, i do ask if he or she is comfortable with it, if the person declines i back out and continue search for another product. Pls i feel annoyed when someone comes here to say i sell defective products, one thing in electronics is that you can never tell what goes wrong in them, i have taken time to update my thread on issues regarding to electronics tvs in particular, we dnt knw what goes in there bt we always have a fix for it. Pls pals try and understand.

Yes it was not the fault of the buyer, bt its not my fault too, i have told the buyer the solution which we agreed on bt he went the other way feeling i should bear the risk alone.

Since you've agreed that it's no fault of the buyer, why then are you refusing to refund him fully until he pays part of the damage?

Like I said before, whatever happened to the item on transit is between you and the logistic company; I had also used GIG logistics to ship a mini laptop from Benin to Lagos and the screen got totally damaged on arrival. I had to bear the complete loss for damage as the buyer refused any other alternative.

The agreement you reached with the buyer makes no sense and neither did he agree with you. So, stop saying you both have concluded. You'll be doing yourself good if you call the buyer and reach a more sensible agreement with him today.

In good faith I even suggested to split the loss with you if you resold the TV at a devalued price, I remembered you grumbled that if the loss was much, you wouldn't bear it ( maybe you want me to bear it ) but you insisted I send the tv back first to see how much it would be sold for.

Am I getting my money back or a replacement? ? ?

Or am I not getting my money back since I feel like a God, as you earlier told me?

Or are you fighting this to the end like your pals who don't replace defective tv units to their buyers?

I have told you this before, the tv had a line and we intend to remove it, if it does removed you can take your tv, bt if it doesn't them we either sell it off or change a new screen on it as it will save more.

It's seems you don't want your money back, You must be freaking Rich.
Better ask for a full refund or Change of TV and stop all this long story you a doing with him. If you don't take care your money and TV will enter one chance.

Reading thru this thread and similar ones has lead me to d conclusion that "Most" of these "so-called" business men on NL have no understanding of what customer-service is. Their sole aim is money and not customer satisfaction. U fail to realise that one unhappy customer has as much ripple-effect as 10 happy ones.
Mr acunon Pls know this, u bear d risk of delivery except if the customer picks up d product from ur place of business by him/herself, except expressly stated in ur agreement. So if d TV gets to d customer with a fault even if developed in transit then it's ur fault.
Pls cut d long story short and refund ur customer at least 90% of his money to show good faith on ur part and save ur business from developing a negative image.

This is really pathetic and unreasonable. As a businessman, i will actually refund/replace this item and ensure he his very very happy. If you continue to talk / act this way then you are just one low level business man and all you are concerned about is your own pocket. Of course to replace that TV screen should be around 50 - 75k which you can actually call the customer politely, and he might just agree to split the money in halves to fix it(Which he doesn't necessarily have to). I mean i am expecting a mature resolution to this matter and not some sharp moves. Of course i understand the customer is a gentle person but trust me, not all customers will be like him.

Good evening all, for all posters and observers we have finally decided to sell it and i make a refund. It's never my fault that this issue occured, accident is not avoidable, though i had one experience before and this making two and would not want any. I will advise all prospective buyers to see that your goods are insured via GIG for safety purpose. Tvs from smaller sizes like 32"- below will be courier via local services since they are light and larger screens will be given options on whether they will want the local service or an insured service. I apologize for any of my nasty write up and also plead for forgiveness from any i have trespassed. Thanks for your enlightenment and critics.
