Good day Nairalanders.

I really need your advice on something.I come from a family of five (5) and I am the 4th child.

I have a sister who is in her late twenties(20s) and she work with a multinational company in Lagos.
This is her Third(3rd) year on the job and I know she needs a car now(cos of the traffic and transport issue in Lagos).

Now,here's the issue,my 2 senior and my junior sisyer thinks that getting a car is a bad idea.Why? Cos she's single.

My beloved brother said it would push men away from her and I was shocked.

Please,does this not sound myopic? I really dont get it.
Nairalanders how do you see this cos she feels down right now.

For some reason, its true, it puts inferiority complex and low self esteem on intending suitors. But the bright side if it is you could attract a well to do man like you with high self esteem but chances are very very very slim, because its a top bottom situation in the africa context whereby a man who made it always seek to marry a women less his success and qualifications for full control.

Let her just be patient if she's not having a fiance for now, but if she has, let her buy it especially if the guy sees nothing wrong with it

Exactly. I say let her get that car like right now. Holy Ghost fire to any man who feels threaten and debilitated by a woman with car from her life. Let them vamoose and she'd be glad they did.

Picture this,as a man,there are ladies u see and know u cant woo.not because of bride per se,but because you know she is not in your league.its either she is on an upper level,or at a lower level.....

As a lady,there are some men you wont date...same reason as above.....

With a car she will move up the "league ladder".old things will pass away ie,she might not attract the same set of men like before....thats assuming she doesnt av a steady relationship oh
