yellowsun: Dodan Barracks hasn't been a functional seat of government since IBB's government moved to Abuja. No Nigerian President has stayed there since. Re-check your facts. We are all aware of the succession problems during the Yaradua Era and how it took the Senate passing a resolution invoking " the doctrine of necessity" to get Yaradua's vice to step in even after it was clear he had passed on. |

Nobody is saying the seat of power was in Dodan barracks but who did he hand over the activities of government when he went on 2weeks vacation in February 2009. Note he spent a. Week in Obudu cattle. Ranch in. Calabar before travelling to D-Barracks for another 1week he finally rounded up the 2weeks vacation in his hometown in Katsina! https://emekaumejei./2009/02/08/colours-of-presidential-vacation/ greenpasture: |

It's a shame a lot of people (you know the groups) still can't make the effort to learn the correct names of their leaders. Some of us try...we correctly learnt names like Alamieyeseigha (even gave it Alams, for short), Lokpobiri, Amaechi (as different from Elechi), Okorocha (as different from Okocha), Kachikwu (as different from Ikechukwu), Akpan (as different from Apan), Muhammadu (as different from Mohammed), etc. For your information: The Vice President of Nigeria (acting President until Feb. 10th) is Prof. Yemi OSINBAJO i.e. Osi-N-bajo (not Osibanjo, not Osunbade) |

chichriso:When Yar'dua was sick and always travelling abroad for treatment, did he ever hand over to his vice (Jonathan)? Has any sitting president ever hand over to their vice while going on compulsory leave? Past president never trusted their vice so they prefer handing over the the sgf until they resume. Buhari is setting a good precedent here, this is how it should be done irrespective whether he is going for medical treatment or a well deserved vacation. |

Re: Caption This Picture Of Amaechi Buhari And Osibanjo by Nobody: 3:26pm On Feb 06, 2016 |
yellowsun: I see. The President doesn't stop acting as the president even when on vacation except he explicitly writes to NASS to allow his Vice represent him in full capacity in the interim. The President can act from anywhere. The practice of the President handing over by a clear letter to NASS when going for medicals was a fall out of the Yaradua situation and is designed to deal with a gap in the 1999 Constitution that was used by a cabal around Yaradua to hold unto power even whe it became clear that the then President was clearly incapacitated. This is the first time this new practice is being implemented. I hope this serves. 1 Like |

Something tells me that at a certain time Buhari will set up those corrupt ones around him both in his cabinet and in the APC after he must have used them to get what he wants. He's strict that way |
