So I'll try to make this very brief, for all readers...
I have always been someone that believes in collective good,and making myself and my subordinates likewise play their roles in betterment of a soceity
Also I had not liked the things I see in churches, also as the people that attend churches and cast out devils get back to their homes only to become d devils themselves...

seeing most of these I stopped attending churches for close to 6monnths, b4 I had an encounter(story 4 anoda day) ; and decides to restart again...

I then switched church (from winners to Dunamis gospel church) and became a very regular sunday service church goer (couldn't go weekdays cus of d demanding nature of my Job)... suffice to add; I choose attending Dunamis cause of the sermon (for those that know Dr. Paul Enentche, u can. Attest his sermon are wonderful)... so also is d resident pastor @ our branch... but currently I'm getting very disenchanted and disillusioned with Church, and my reasons...

The church(not just Dunamis, but all churches) seem to be fueling,engineering and encouraging the laxity,complacency and reluctance of citizens in playing their collective roles in making our society a better place for all,

For instance, a flyer was circulated in church today title " Activating prosperity Despite Economic failures" ... and everyone in church was cheering ; I was dumb struck to my bones... is this what we need to waken our economic woes as a state? How do u even think u can have a blast just for you when the economy of the nation u live is in shambles? It will always affect u... The economy failed because of reckless acts, callousness and greed of people that still went to various churches to shout and receive all sorts of "declarations"; when are we going to understand, God won't help us if we don't help ourselves, we shouldn't steal from where we are asked to work, we should hold defaulters accountable with punitive measures, we should think of means of productions and manufacturing of goods, that's how economic breakthrough comes;

Not shouting ontop of our voices in prayer and go back to our offices to continue in our vile acts and believe God will turn economy around for you (that's stupidity).. these are what churches should preach and emphasize, this is d gospel that should spread...

Selling elusive hope to people; when same people refuse to work together and make our climes sustainable is really stupid, and the church is selling this ideas of giving ur money and sacrifices to God, go to sleep and he'll solve all our problems, is not only repulsive, nauseating and annoying to sensible humans but also to God...

U hear all sorts of declarations....
"Your this month shall be all prosperity" with Loud cry of "AMeeeeeeeeeeeeeN!!!!" renting the air...
"Your businesses shall see breakthroughs despite the economy we find ourselves"... Etc...


I believe the church is really deviating from what it should be(i.e helping society in repositioning the ideals and engender citizens participation in its betterment) ... and i'm getting disenchanted with attending church services, where all these otoise are being sang regularly; i'm truly getting disenchanted.....

God help me not to go back to my old ways...

Truth is, you are right to feel this way. For my own peace of mind, i have decided to practice Christianity in my heart and the confines of my house, while reading the Bible.

Churches are a little confusing, especially in the African/Nigerian Context.

God, i envy Pastor,
Free untaxed cash in form of offerings, tithes, seed,
And you the Pastor is the sole signatory to Church accounts,
And you keep telling your flock why the shouldn't cheat God yet, you are using the offerings and tithes cash that was meant for God to buy choice cars and properties for yourself.
The new wave pastors who are after your cash don't preach of hellfire and wages of sin,
The preach about God's grace, prosperity and breaking of curses.
