A coy attempt at damage control. Many people obviously did not see the disconnect between what Achebe was saying about a nation space - and what Buhari was saying about her people. It was disingenuous and it made for a good tweet. Especiallysince Tolu conveniently forgot to share that Wole Soyinka is in the habit of saying similar truths likethis one on May 21, 2009, where he is applauding Obama for avoiding Nigeria, that "open sore of the continent.":"If Obama decides to grace Nigeria with his presence,I will stone him. The message he is sending by going to Ghana is so obvious, is so brilliant that he must not render it flawed by coming to Nigeria any time soon."
