As much as Nnamdi Kanu incited members of the public to participate in a fight for democracy, he is not guilty of any crime. He is merely a freedom fighter who felt his voice will be heard and sees himself as the pioneer who will lead "Biafrans" to the promise land.

The Federal government should release him with a dialogue addressing future conduct and incitements. The British govt. is closely following his case and the Federal government need to either release Kanu or convict him, either way he will gain his freedom as conviction will get him repatriation to the United Kingdom to serve his jail term which in a democratic world is no offence.
