I really feel for you and those making inconsiderate comments have no clue. There is a reason they say a dog is mans best friend. We lost ours 3 years ago due to sickness, though we now have a Amstaff. See pics when she was 20 weeks and 1 year. She is now 3.

I think your dog may be suffering from diabetes due to old age . Especially if its that old which is quite old for that type to be honest. In human years, itc comparable to 72yrs. Thing would be to control the diet giving slow carbs. As for the cataracts, if its truly caused by diabetes there is little you can do, if its not it wont spread like that.

Its very easy to diagnose, small tap of blood and they should be able to tell you.

If it gets worse dont let the dog suffer to much, let go no matter how painful.

Now, my question to the house is this: is there something we can do to prevent the cataract overtaking the remaining the good eye? *sob*

Also, he is always coughing. He spends most of the day coughing. The vet in my area is incompetent (he collected big money to treat our Innocent, but the poor thing still died) so we are afraid of taking him there. Most of the dogs handled by this quack end up dying and we don't wanna hasten Ruggedman's imminent demise by handing him to the executioner.

Get unripe pawpaw use a new blade to draw lines on in horizontally get the whitish liquid into a bowl. If you need to get three or more please do. Parboil the liquid under mild heat for 10 mins. It'll get thickened get pap and feed your rugged man. The cataract would be gone in 3 days. Try it thank me later.

aawn I can remember when my seven year old Spikey had tick infection.I did everything, I'd go to d vet in my area like four times a day,it got really worse, rapid breath,lethargy,lack of appetite and every time we called it, it will wiggle its tail with all its strength. I felt so much pity that I'd cry nd put food in my hand just to make it eat,yeah! He's been my friend since jss1.I almost put it to sleep, mercy killing but my dad didn't let me, he said I should keep praying to God, I went online and got a general dog antibiotic called Doxycycline with constant prayers in four days it got better. Now its back to sleeping at my window ,making midnight noises, doing morning workout with me and licking my sweat. Some times we don't wanna lose those sweet souls. I'll pray for your dog like I did mine.
