My 13 year old Bingo, Ruggedman belongs to the latter category. He will be 14 in November, but he might be stoneblind before then.

Ruggedman is already 90% deaf and the only way we can get his attention is by tapping him. He has cataracts in one eye, and it is already spreading to the second.

Now, my question to the house is this: is there something we can do to prevent the cataract overtaking the remaining the good eye? *sob*

Also, he is always coughing. He spends most of the day coughing. The vet in my area is incompetent (he collected big money to treat our Innocent, but the poor thing still died) so we are afraid of taking him there. Most of the dogs handled by this quack end up dying and we don't wanna hasten Ruggedman's imminent demise by handing him to the executioner.

I'm very sure that vet isn't the only vet in your state or local government if you really want to save her , ask people around you especially those big men that owns dogs too

Awwwww.... so sad, I dropped a tear,reminds me of our dog.. Rudy was her name... grew up with Rudy... went to the university and came back and Rudy was still there... she was so smart, she understood not only English but our emotions..... she was the champ in my street... then she started getting old, barking aimlessly at night... sleeping on her new born... neglecting them cos they were ugly and skinny and sitting next to her daughter's puppies cos they were chubby... we had a kindred of dogs.. Rudy was finally sold to the knackers cos she was going mad... i feel for you.... you may someday have to let go..

well, i had a dog that stayed 13 years with us (2002-2013). the dog was still galant, prior to his death .. im not sure if ur dog's condition is linked to old age.. carry am go better vet, not the quack ones around.. hopefully, he/she will be cured.

@ ishilove.Kindly try this out and am 99.9% sure that it will work.My mum tried it with two of our goats having the same problem like that of your dogs and it works.Get a life called EWE YANRIN in Yoruba ,squeeze it and apply the liquid coming out of the leaf to your dog's eyes.Try this within two to five days,you will be amazed when you see the end result.
