Alhaji Yahaya Bello, Governor of Kogi State has ordered all permanent secretaries and heads of parastatals in the state civil service to proceed on compulsory leave.

According to a statement by the governor’s Chief Press Secretary, Kingsley Fanwo on Monday, the governor also relieved the state Accountant General of his position, while directing his assistant to immediately proceed on 30 days compulsory leave.

“I wish to confirm that His Excellency, Alhaji Yahaya Bello has directed that all permanent secretaries, heads of administration are to go on compulsory leave with immediate effect. The only exemptions to this category are people on acting capacity and the permanent secretary, government house.


“Also, the Accountant General has been relieved of his position, while the second in command will proceed on 30 days compulsory leave.

“At the local government level, the Directors of Local Government (DLGs), treasurers, education secretaries and cashiers are also to proceed on compulsory leave,” the statement reads.
