Eleanor Whitehead, a Telegraph (UK) correspondent currently working in Nigeria on Friday shared an image of a tannery – a place where skins and hides from animals especially cows are processed into leather – in Kano which supplies global fashion outfit, Louis Vuitton.

Whitehead who appears to be on a trip around some production factories in Nigeria’s northern region shared pictures of a few other places including the Dangote tomato paste factory in Kano and an abandoned shoe factory.

She shared the pictures on Twitter where she also mentioned that she had interacted with some farmers in Kano on Thursday aside visiting the Dangote factory.

Lalasticlala please put this on frontpage to show that every region has something to offer. The amount of resources the country has both human and natural if harnessed well, can make this country a world power. We don't know the amount of blessings this country has considering the fact that we are not usually plagued with natural disasters like earthquakes, typhoon or extreme weather. It would be awesome if our tanneries could get back to business. Just yesterday, I was telling my banker about opening form M to import leather. Little did I know that all our leather doesn't disappear as pomo.
