Hello ,

I got a mail that decision has been made! But no one was called for verification , not even my office or sibling . Is that normal ?

Have you collected your passport?
Re: General UK Visa Enquiries - Part 3 by akyiremlouis: 6:37pm On Feb 19, 2016
yes its normal if you really provided sufficient evidence of your circumstances and that eco is satisfied that your case is genuine

usually every document including bank statement should be dated within two weeks before submission and bank statement should cover a period of six months before submission

You can't print your statement a few days to your submission date but if you can make it not more than one week to your appointment date

With a month gap between printing and submitting it raises doubts to the visa officer.
"Why such a time gap for something so simple?"
"Why did you have to print so early?"
"Is the money still there?"
"What other problems are you hiding?"

All of these will go through the mind of the V. O.

Try and print a bank statement covering up to the 19th of February. For schengen countries the rule is that the statement be not older than 10 days. Am assuming the ECO will have a similar expectation

On the other hand what is the best way to get pounds (PTA) or at descent rates? GTbank has stopped issuing PTA and the BDC's seem to be charging outrageous amounts (almost 500 naira to 1 pounds).

Abnot Travellex at MMA sells dollar at official rate. You have to present ur boarding pass printed by the airline, ur visa. You can call them to get more information as the rule keeps changing.

The visa officers and embassy always have ways of finding out account balance from banks.
If for some reason they can not get an answer, that alone is a reason for rejection!

If you are trying with a false account forget it now before you get banned for fraud!

Do banks disclose account bal to third party( ECO)

Banks maintain some level of confidentiality and are only able to verify the authenticity of account statements submitted to ECO. By law your account balance and other confidential details regarding your account can only be made available to institutions such as ICPC and EFCC among others.
Nevertheless, consider the ECO as a human being whose instincts could ask certain questions such as "why was this applicant's statement printed long before his appointment date?" , "could he have borrowed money just to display for purposes of obtaining an entry clearance "?... If the ECO finds it unconvincing, he/she could deny you an entry clearance . Also bear in mind that the ECO's have more powers to deny general visit visa applications than the point based applications as a result of their current laws. Will advice that you submit a recent bank statement if you have nothing to conceal from the ECO.

Your aware of the forex scarcity? According to CBN everyone is entitled to 4000$ PTA per quarter. So measures are put in place to ensure genuine travellers get the forex

Your payslip already shows tax deductions. You are fine.

Hi justwise and everyone. Pls I want to apply for uk visitor's visa and my tax is being deducted from salary though it is evident on my pay slip. One of the requirements for the visa is tax clearance certificate and when I requested it from my employer, I was told to go submit dat there is no individual remittance by the company. Pls what do I do? Do I go to FIRS directly to request for it? Pls I await your response. Thanks.

You don't need any tax certificate to apply for the UK visit visa . I don't even know what the tax certificate thing looks like . Just try your best to submit documents that will convince the ECO that you'll come back to naija after your visit and during your visit you won't have any need to get money from the UK government to survive
