WARRI—NIGER Delta Avengers, the militant group which claimed responsibility for blowing up the Forcados Terminal Pipeline in Delta State, recently, has served notice of attacks on more oil installations in the region until the Federal Government addresses its grievances.

The group vowed: “Shell Petroleum Development Company, SPDC, Forcados terminal is our latest casualty. There are many more to follow in the days and weeks ahead.”

The group, in a statement obtained in Warri, said that it was prepared to reduce Nigeria’s daily oil production and supply to zero barrel if its agitation was ignored.

“The same factor that brought about the Niger Delta arms struggle is fast resurfacing as the Muhammadu Buhari-led administration is poised to exterminate Niger Delta people for being benevolent enough to allow the nation’s mono-economy thrive on our oil.

“We are being oppressed, pushed to the wall on various fronts, which is why we have picked up the challenge to be the outlaws this government will have to contend with till daily production of oil is reduced to zero in the Niger Delta, so government can use the oil from the North to run Nigeria’s mono-economy.

“We believe that Nigeria can practice true federalism where our resources will be controlled by us and used for our own good. The reverse is the case today, where the goose that lays the golden egg is killed along with the egg,” they said.

My main problem with this news is that even if one tries to contact Bubu to intimate him the situation of things in his country, he'll not be there. he'll either be burukutu drunk and locked up in a room to avoid letting his staff know or he'll be deep in the bush chasing after cows in torn clothes or maybe in a far away country hanging out with some white skined persons while Nigeria boils.

Everything is getting worse during buhari administration. Inflation, poor power supply, dollar getting close to 400 and pound close to 500, militant resurfacing. All but to name a few. We now know the relevance of Goodluck in Jonathan's name

Nigeria cannot experience lasting peace and prosperity without addressing the root cause of armed insurgency, and civil unrest.

After you visit Abuja and compare it with say Oyibo in River state, you'll understand that the insurgency was only postponed and not solved.

It will always be a recurring phenomenon, unless poverty and unfair wealth distribution is addressed in the region

ok

one thing is glaring

these militants are petty criminals who just want to feed fat without doing anything. they don't care about the Niger delta people or its environment.

they are used to having free money and are liken to a spoilt child throwing tantrums

who militants don help?!

who is going to bear the brunt of environmental degradation if not us ( the Niger deltans)

am reminded of the proverb that says

"the sheep that defecates on its body thinks it is punishing it's master, not knowing it's punishing itself"

ignorance is a sin. They are destroying their future generation by degrading their land all in the name of militancy. Buhari has only 4 or 8 yrs to stay where he peacefully go back to his cattle rearing and crop business and sell meat to them with their stipend when they have finished destroying the little land they have

Mr Dullard should listen to these people before they totally ground the production of crude oil to zero level. These guys should not be taken for granted. A word is enough for the wise.
