Nigerians were scammed with Okonjo ' s World Bank resume. Just like CHUKWUMA SOLUDO said "She was a secretary for the world Bank and not an economist. It's like saying that the head of Customer service of a bank is a Banker. Not all Bank employees are automatically called Bankers. The result of it is how she mismanaged our economy. If we can only remove tribalism from our psyche, then we will see how she obviously failed. Kemi Adeosun will be judged after her tenure.
Another propaganda. A secretary of world bank running for president in the same institution ? Is Soludo or Ludo jealous of her achievements ?

Well detailed write up, it sweetens my heart when ppl in d know talks. Let our incapable government continue living in lies, while we are heading into full recession
.
A recession that started 9 months ago? Or a recession that started in April/may when ur hero and almighty economist borrowed to pay salaries, despite the huge revenue oil was bringinghuh

When u are too consumed in ur hate n vengeance, u become too blind to see d gud side of d man on d other side. If NOI destroyed Nigeria's economy like som pple claim, why hasn't Buhari's genius remedy it. At least Okonjo left a dollar at abt N150. Hw much is. It now with d new Sherrif in town n his followers?

What you are not understanding is Okonjo Iweala and the economic team may not have been perfect but they were taking serious measures to prevent our economy from slipping into possible recession as we have now. Is it a coincidence that our economy has worsened under Buhari? Why wasn't the economy this bad under GEJ? THEY WERE TAKING MEASURES!THEY HAD STRONG ECONOMIC TEAM. TO THE CONTRARY, IT TOOK BUHARI 6 MONTHS TO ASSEMBLE A CABINET AND TO THIS DAY HAS NO ECONOMIC TEAM. SO STOP BLAMNG GEJ AND IWEALA.
Taking what measures? Even when the only product we exported was sold at the highest amount, they couldnt save for future used. What exactly was she doing there when everything stole able was stolen under her very watch and she couldn't raise any alarm of any sort. Nonsense

Out of tribalism some Nigerians would prefer to beg on the street than allow a credible hand from another tribe manage their economy.
Can you give us examples of these credible hands from another tribe that will manage our currency better than Emefiele?

Okonjo Iweala would have failed under our new Commander-In- Chief who sees himself as an emperor, a president who doubles as Chief Economist, Attorney General, Auditor General, Chief Justice etc.A leader that claims to be Mr. Know-all.
Better than a leader who knows absolutely nothing..... Not even willing to know what was happening to our treasury when DSK was sharing the dollars

Femi Aribisala is an old foool.

If not, how does a sane man canvass for the return of a finance minister who failed woefully in managing bounty harvest to come and mange austere period?

The overhyped economist who couldn't diversify the economy during surplus earnings is the person the lunatic Aribisala is asking us to bring back!

And talking about the revelations in the budget, it is actually a credit to Buhari that we're getting to know the existence of bloated figures contained therein. In the past, the presidency would have done a deal with the NASS such that the budget is not fully discussed to reveal those padding before it's passed. But because we have a president who will not do a deal to shortchange Nigeria, we're able to know how the budget cabals have been stealing us blind.

Yes, the presidency made some mistakes by not being very deligent with the budget, but the fact that heads have rolled and more will still roll for the budget padding is a testament to the president's readiness to take actions to correct mistakes.

To hell with Femi Aribisala and his unpatriotic cohorts.
God bless you!
Re: Time To Beg Okonjo-iweala To Come Back - Femi Aribisala by forgiveness: 2:07pm On Feb 23, 2016
If Okonjo were Joseph, she would have saved for the raining days perhaps we could have escaped the famine. But Okonjo saw nothing, knew nothing and dreamt nothing. She only helped to destroy the economy and helped to fulfill the dreams of the looters through her mastery in paper works to cover the loots. What a shame if we have her back again.

Note: Okonjo under OBJ is different from Okonjo under GEJ. the difference is clear. grin

Haba. Let us not only beg her but also beg PDP to come back and borrow over a billion dollars to pay salaries like Iweala did last year before she handed over, deplete the foreign reserves, lie about economic statistics, and diversify the economy they failed to diversify for 16-years o. What PDP failed to do in 16-years, i am sure they will perform magic after we beg them back this time around. I can't shout oooooo.
boss I'll prefer we start calling names cause to the best of my knowledge no body solely bears PDP as a name.... am more interested in the elements that makes up a compound.. !!!

So if we take your words that, the President was/is sincere and only got to know about the padding in the budget now and the issue has been corrected plus, according to you; heads has rolled and more will rolled, then why is it that when the budget was returned, it still had the original figures as total.

Common sense will tell everyone that, if Nkechi put pads in her booby which make then size 30 and she excuse herself to go in private to remove paddingd the size should go down....I guess if Nkechi reappear and her booby is still size 30, people like you will believe that, she has actually removed the paddings.

In my very humble opinion, i think the average Nigerian (Including myself) is a simpleton. Here's why:

2 to 3 months ago, banks refused to receive dollar deposits. The excuse then was that there was excess dollar liquidity in the system. Banks were even claiming that their vaults were filled with dollars. Naira even appreciated.

Presently we are experiencing dollar shortage. Naira will soon hit 500. The excuse we are given is the oil price. But nobody is asking how we went from excess dollars to no dollars within a very short timeframe. . How did all the dollars evaporate? I think something else is responsible for this dollar hike. All we are hearing is oil price fall and i'm not buying into that BS.

Pls someone should enlighten me oh.

before calling Femi an "old fool", maybe you need to have yourself examined because if you were making good use of your eyes and common sense, you would DEFINITELY have seen in this same write-up you condemn, where he addressed the same issues you are now saying he didn't think about before calling for Okonjo-Iweala's return. He clearly detailed how Okonjo-Iweala was bent on having Nigeria save for the rainy day by introducing the Excess crude account, and creation of a sovereign wealth fund, but she was forced to abandon the proposal when the state Governors led by APC's Adams Oshiomhole armtwisted her with court orders to share all the proceeds in the excess crude account to the states for spending rather than have the money saved as she had planned.

My friend read before you comment and stop publicizing your brazen ignorance when knowledge is right before your screen!
