O Lord! Hustling! How about pursuing a phD? Is that equally competitive?!

As a naija man PhD. position should be quite easy plus you have the opportunity to look at other countries. What programs and schs did you apply to?

Ull need at least 400 Euro per month....I stand to be corrected...
I pay 220 for rent
52 Euro bus card.....U can bike in the summer period to anywhere
150 for food and supplies
For the month
However when applying for Ur students permit..ull have to have 6720euro in Ur account.
However concentrate on getting the admission first....then other things will follow.

The reason am asking is to start planning, given this naira fluctuation. You can't wait till admission come out before, u start to plan your finances. Thanks for the break down.

UAF already acknowledged receipt of all my documents except the transcript that i sent the second time. I already mailed them, they replied that they are still dealing with docs that arrived on the 27th of January, mine arrived on the 8th of February. What should i do bosses Should i mail them again or i should call them

Just chill. They already gave you a reason. If you call, they will say the same thing.

Cheers!

Job prospects are quite bleak at the moment as it is in other parts of Europe. Guys with strong IT and programming skills have the best opportunity of getting a job at the moment. The best bet for other guys like myself are through Master thesis positions at Companies (quite difficult to get too) and also multinationals such as Kone, Nokia, Kalmar, Metso, Neste, Vaisala, Wartsila, Microsoft etc. as they do not require working knowledge of the Finnish language. Igboro no dey smile o, even them Finns are not finding it easy. I am currently searching for summer jobs in the summer, I don apply to 10 companies and i think say i dey super proactive. I spoke with a Finnish classmate and he told me that he has applied to about 25 places, so you see say no be play play matter.

Boss, even those multinationals most times also require Finnish especially kone, Neste, Metso and Wartsila. When companies like Accenture dey require Finnish u go no say wahala dey. Even if the working language na English. Dem dey tell one naija guy say na english dem dey speak for work, but during lunch and coffee breaks, na Finnish, so the guy no go fit interact and dem no give am the job. If na me i go tell dem say, no worry i go dey bring my food from house, and i no dey drink coffee..... LoL cheesy.

Na only God go help person. Like u said IT guys seems to find it a little bit easier.

Enjoy bro!.....Cheers!

Great.... I am studying same course at TUT. If you get Aalto's admission that should be your number 1 choice. Hope say u get first class o or else make u forget Aalto o. IEM at Aalto is extremely competitive. In case you think say the first class thing no serious see an email i got from Aalto last year;

Dear XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX,

Thank you for your e-mail. Please find below further information on the selection decision made.

The reason for rejection used in your case, “The academic performance of the applicant does not meet the programme requirements” meant that despite being eligible and fulfilling the general eligibility requirements of the programme, your previous study success (gpa 4,35 from Obafemi Awolowo University) was not sufficient for selection. As stated in the programme-specific evaluation criteria (http://www.aalto.fi/en/studies/education/programme/industrial_engineering_management_master/#admission_requirements), the programme is looking for students who have achieved consistently the best grades throughout the degree studies (very high weighted average grade or GPA). Unfortunately, your previous study success did not fulfill this requirement as a gpa of at least 4,5 would have been required in order to proceed to the 2nd phase of the selection process.

I hope this clarifies the selection decision made. I wish you the best of luck in your future endeavors!

With kind regards,
Karoliina Kekko

Although i feel say even though them nor require am after staying two years for Finland person suppose fit speak a little above the basic level. Right now i can hold little conversations in Finnish.....

I didn't know getting into the programme is very competitive until I saw the admission results from last year! It has the fourth highest number of applicants... I was so shocked. Well it's all in the hands of God now!

Wow! Even with your high gpa. It's great you are in TUT. How's the course like? And do you know anything about LUT? It seems good as well.

Super cool and interesting!

It focuses on sales and sourcing in a business to business context. The program is super stressful though.

I don't know any one in LUT

Bros... if u need help concerning the above, kindly answer the questions below;

1. Did your sponsor transfer the required 1.5M naira directly from his account to yours? If not what was the reason you presented to migri?

2. What did you provide as support documents for the source of your sponsors income/earnings.

3. What was the reason for denial provided by migri.

Can I used my brother bank statement in finland as my sponsor since I don't av any sponsor here? The reason I w denied was because I don't av good financial support. I jst discovered dis thread dis year.

I think you need to open a Finnish block account and fund the account with 6750 euro. That's enough evidence of funding according to migri.. I stand to be corrected tho

I got an email from UEF acknowledging my scanned docs as advance copies of my application. But UAF peepz are still giving me tough time. Although my transcripts have been sent to them but the last time I got their mail, they said they will probably not accept my notification of result.
These people dey crase coz I told em my degree certificate is not ready and that they should contact my university, LASU, if they want to verify anything. Never heard from them though but am looking forward to receiving their mails anytime soon. As any1 heard or receive any mails from UAF recently?

I think you were denied because you use self sponsor. A friend of mine was also denied last year and he's also going for undergraduate and uses self sponsor. My own thought about this is that those people are not stupid they know that you are going for undergraduates program and probably you are not yet working so how come you were able to finance yourself. Another thing is that you are going for a course that is 3yrs or more, so they need to know that you have strong financial backup.

So my advise is that this year try to get a sponsor most importantly someone that uses your surname.

Best of luck.

Please, I got a bit confused. my bro n sis are my sponsors and they live and work in UK. They were thinking of sending the money into my account but from what I have been reading here, I can deduce that it's better they give me sponsorship letters and present their own bank statements?

The €6720 has to be in your account, you will present their source of income and statement of account with cash flow in and out for the past three month.

Pls I got a mail today from University of Oulu notifying me of an interview I'll be having with their admission committee next week via Skype.
