Over 2 Years The Popular Igwu Bridge Fell (pictures) by Mcowubaba(op):
It has been continuous suffering for the indigenes of Ndi Ebe Abam in Arochukwu LGA
, Abia State..
The only bridge linking them to economic and social activities fell down over 2 years ago...

Various Government arms and agencies have made promises to repair the bridge but Nothing has been done up till Now..
This has caused great grievances and anguish for the indigenes...

People that come for wedding can't access the village directly, the have to park their cars before the bridge and enter boat to reach the village...

Same scenario applies during burials, even corpses(casket) are subjected to this treatment..
Price of commodities in the community have sky rocketed due to transportation and accessibility...

The indigenes are begging the Federal Government, Ministry of Works, FERMA, NEMA, Abia State Government, Arochukwu Local Government Chairman etc to come to their aid..

More information:

Ndi-Ebe is a populated place and is located in Abia, Nigeria. The estimate terrain elevation above seal level is 52 metres.
Latitude: 5°36'51.26"
Longitude: 7°43'7.6

Eyaa, this could really be painful. I hope the governor does something about it and fast due to approaching rainy season. I heard he's a performer- hope he does this for them.

Nigerians could be very careless though. That bridge doesn't look to be the type to accommodate such weighty mass as that of the truck pictured above. The driver shouldve known better.

Of course it's bad

My hometown's not far from there

Remember passing that bridge during my bro's trad only to hear few days later it colapsed

From what I hear
It was built during colonial times
Tho it gets re-enforced once in a while
