I am in no way praising or dissing him but logically analyzing him as a character in the series. There are necessary evils and Danzo with his methods represents one.

Being the last line of defense means you only act when all else fails. But the Third did a good job holding off Orachimaru and Naruto Pain. Someone got to carry on the Will of Fire in the event of total annihilation.

Like I said I kinda single out his person for this. Imagine what Itachi passed through just to get to the Akatsuki and how he remained an obedient soldier even till death on the commands of Danzo!

Yeah i get you Naruto is an anime/manga with intriguing strategies and tactics that can be employed to defeat your enemies and achieve your goals true enough but aside that as a ninja to your village your duty to your village comes first even konohamaru fought pain, with all the claim of trying to save konoha and the world there was no action from him that says so, he tried to kill his own friend (well one cud say former) the hokage and other numerous things.
Lastly abeg with all the dark plots and hiding in the shadows what did he get, hokage for few mins and didnt even succeed in ridding out the two uchiha members that were dangerous that guy is the definition of useless. His fight against sasuke was somehow funny, u get 10 sharingans waste all of them on izanagi fighting one boy like that come which ninja school taught that guy how to fight.
I also blame the third hokage for allowing lots of shenanigans to happen during his time.
Any way who do you think is the best hokage in terms of leadership.

Tsunade the gambler, hahahahahaha. Why didn't Jiraya even take the title. He would've made a very good Hokage. The Third has it.
