But i expect IPOB to protest employing hunger as a weapon of war against bpko haram, even children and women were among the victims, or is it only Biafrans that deserve to be fed by enemy combatants? grin

I can see the way many so-called biafrans hail the use of blockade and hunger to fight boko haram , and then turn around in other threads to condemn Awolowo, Gowon as demons for using similar tactics to win. Classic case of hypocrisy

Your reasoning stands logic on its head!

If it is true that 76 Boko Haram's have surrendered, they should be taken to court, tried and jailed for TREASON and GENOCIDE. They should be tried like Nnamdi Kanu. If they are released for radical rehabilitation, then Nnamdi Kanu should also be released for radical rehabilitation.

These people killed a lot of helpless Nigerians, took over some cities in Borno and pinned their flag claiming an Islamist state. This is treason. Kanu only opened a radio station to make announcement. He did not carry a gun or kill. He did not capture any city to pin a flag.

If these Boko Haram's are not tried, then I know Buhari is tribalistic and he is the leader of Boko Haram.

Kanu also tried buying weapons. Although he was a lesser evil until he get his hands on those weapons.

How?

Is blockade and hunger acceptable as a weapon of war now only because non-biafrans are the victims?

This isnt the time to celeberate and embark on a fan fiesta. The nigerian army should take publicity advantage of the situation. Get the captives to make public confessions on national tv. Others still in hiding will consider their their own plight and give up in their thousands. This war has entered second level media warfare. Lets hope the nigeria army that advantage of this. I cant imagine what propaganda boko haram would have done if they had this upper hand.

So everyone now na IPOB? Why tribalize every issue. BH is a terrorist org. Why should you now equate them to unarmed IPOB? Ok, na. Make we build palaces for them and share our yams for dem, because you hate IPOB.

How many people have IPOB members killed? Even the Niger Delta militants didn't kill civilians. If you are sympathetic to BH, it doesn't mean that the rest of us are. They deserve nothing but death.
Re: 76 Hungry Boko Haram Members Surrender To Nigerian Military by chinchum(m): 7:28pm On Mar 02, 2016
I place more premium on blockade of logistics supply to bokoharam than actually fighting bh on the battle field.

The war would be won as long as long as food, water, fuel and medical supplies hardly get to them.

This is a better news than army kills 16 bh members, as several others flee.

dridowu:
MAIDUGURI, Nigeria (AP) -- Dozens of emaciated-looking Boko Haram members begging for food have surrendered in northeast Nigeria, the military and a civilian self-defense fighter said Wednesday.

Seventy-six people including children and women gave themselves up to soldiers last Saturday in Gwoza, about 100 kilometers (60 miles) southeast of Maiduguri, according to a senior officer.

All are being detained at military headquarters in Maiduguri, the birthplace of Boko Haram and currently the command center of the war against the Islamic extremists, according to the officer. He insisted on anonymity because he is not authorized to speak to journalists.

The detainees said many more fighters want to surrender, a self-defense civilian fighter who helped escort them to Maiduguri told The Associated Press.

Food shortages could indicate that Nigeria's military is succeeding in choking supply routes of the Islamic extremists who have taken their fight across Nigeria's borders. Some 20,000 people have died in the 6-year-old uprising. Boko Haram was declared the deadliest of all terror groups in 2014, surpassing the Islamic State group to which it declared allegiance last year.

Nigeria's military reported that dozens of Boko Haram fighters were surrendering in September and October last year. It promised those who give themselves up voluntarily that they will be rehabilitated through a de-radicalization program.

In the 10 months since he took office promising to halt the insurgency, President Muhammadu Buhari has replaced the leadership of the military, moved the headquarters for the fight from the distant capital, Abuja, to the heart of the northeastern insurgency and resupplied soldiers.

The military has driven the insurgents from the towns and villages where they had set up an Islamic caliphate but Boko Haram has returned to hit-and-run tactics and suicide bombings.

Very funny, its very easy to be a hypocrite, were the Biafrans blockaded during the civil war not armed? did they not bomb Lagos and attack the midwest? The question is why does boko haram deserve blockade and starvation while those who blockaded biafra are seen today as demons by IPOB.
Meanwhile same IPOB support starvation of boko haram, just pointing out the double standards.

This has nothing to do with sympathy for any group.

You still haven't answered my question: is anyone who thinks BH should be shot dead IPOB? What is wrong with your head? Is there any form of organized food blockade against BH? Should the Nigerian govt now supply food to them? Is it IPOB as you know it today that fought the war? Do you know your history or just quick to mention IPOB simply to get like?

We all don't have to support BH, IPOB or any other group, but we can at least honestly differentiate btw them.

You are still missing the point, whether you're IPOB supporter or not is immaterial, but many who condemned starvation/blockade policy of the FG against Biafra are yet to condemn this blockade against boko haram.

It is left for you within yourself to know if you also ever condemn the FG policy against Biafra and all over here supporting starvation policy against boko haram.

So i will ask again was the blockade of Biafra by FG during the civil war right or wrong?

Are you Boko haram or do you have family members that are? Did the FG initiate any type of blockade against Boko Haram?

The Red Cross and other world bodies were stopped from delivering food to the Biafran civilians, not necessarily the fighting soldiers. Therein lies whatever little malaise there was in it. So stop mentioning BH in the same sentence with IPOB or any other group with legit grievances.

In warfare, all is fair.

Keep them in maximum cell with hard labour. Now the military should put up a suplementary budget to build a world class maximum security prison in Mambisa Forest where all hardened enemies of state like bokoharam etc will be relocated eventually, just like Quantanaman Bay in Cuba. Who says Nigeria cannot lead the world in crime control practice?
