Why Doesn't The Bible Condemn Slavery? by UncleSnr(op): 3:31pm On Mar 06, 2016
cheesy
I am not ready for long statements, a real Bible reader knows all the Bible says concerning slavery.

Re: Why Doesn't The Bible Condemn Slavery? by hahn(m): 3:38pm On Mar 06, 2016
First question, do christians actually read their bible?

Answer to the topic: god is an egomaniac that needs constant praise and worship to feel good with himself therefore, he needs "slaves" to do that.

Since the oga at the top likes keeping slaves, I guess the "slaves" need slaves of their own
grin

The Bible was written in an era when slavery was right in almost all cultures in the world, even among the jews.

All religious-teachings are fashioned to suit the moral, traditional and philosophical disposition of people it originates from.

You can check it out, every other old religion doesn't condemn slavery.

Are you trying to say that the Bible isn't inspired by God?

Trust me, it pained me when i discovered this. All i can say is that Gods plan supercedes all. But the Bible has prescriptions as to how slaves and masters should relate. thats all i can say.

I kind of wonder why genocide is celebrated in the Old Testament as well.

Abeg, poik, if slavery is god's will and part of his plan, why should it pain you??
Who are you to judge?
Please share with us the sections of Holy writ that shed light on the correct laws regarding the capture, beating and resale of enslaved humans. Just so the unrighteous don't take things out of context...

I'm just being blunt.

If we consider the acclaimed attributes of God as an omniscience being. We would have records that remain relevant to our present development. But this is not the case.

Elijah was taken up by a "chariot of fire", why not a space ship?
Jesus walked on water, why not use a surf board?
Jesus turned water to wine, why not champagne?
Joshua told the sun to stand still, why not the earth?
All the foods that were condemned as unclean are actually traditional believes of most cultures as at the time; the flesh of such animals are most likely to be tasteless...
A serpent deceived eve? Why not a tortoise?
(Tortoise is prominent in our own culture as a wise animal, if the bible was African we would have it as the deceiver)

God of the Bible encouraged war. Does that not seem as a mere justification and best motivation for primitive men?

I'm just being blunt.

The God of the bible is a construction of the ancient Jews. It/he/she was designed so as to make acceptable the atrocities they commited. Just imagine that God punished thoes that took the Israelites as slaves but later allowed the Israelites to own slaves. Sounds like a very biased being to me.

Humble yourself.

Slavery cannot be harmful if ordained by the Almighty.

For centuries we have been greatly blessed.

Isn't it strange that despite all the wise words and miracles performed by Jesus in the Bible he is never once reported to condemn slavery?

It is usually better when your family are slave traders instead grin

The Bible tells slaves to obey their masters.

If my family are enslaved according to the rules in tbe Bible they will know it is God's will to obey their master and the Almighty.

Obedience brings peace.

It is well.
