Doc doesn't work on saturdays so I first saw a nurse, who started taking me up to be admitted immediately, saw a much younger doc on the way n she asked us to go back down so my vitals could be taken,, ohhh ny God, I almost ate her up, she was able to calm me down sha, very nice n efficient lady. I was not feeling my baby move although I dint say anything, we were sent for a scan, everything was ok except low fluid.


Earlier my doc had asked on phone if I took the steroid injections prescribed, thank God I did. Got admitted. All this while my doc was communicating with them on phone. Was prepared for surgery n by 8 my doc came around. By 9 went in., given meds n was numb from waist down, heard when she said she saw the baby's head, saw my baby....

They had to remove three fibroids blocking the way of delivery, I started bleeding.....bought blood already so dat was covered.

My boy came out on the 27th of February my dad's birthday, mom' is 1st, mine 2nd.

He came out at 33 weeks, weighing 2.1kg, dint need to b incubated, at a point they suspected jaundice, but tested negative, my baby is a great over comer, he fought the nasty fibroids for space n won, he fought high bp n won, he fought prem contractions n won. I love him so much n I thank God for gifting him with him.

Pls any advice about caring for preemies are very much welcome. Hoping to be discharged from hospital tomorrow. Hugs n kisses

congratulations once again. God is indeed great. please don't be offended oo, I taught they said you can't remove fibroid while conducting CS, that it's life threatening. I can see your own was successful,, thank God.

Anak123 to God be the glory o. You can google every info you need on how to take care of him but the only thing I know is the skin to skin. Either you or dh and the baby shouldn't wear anything then carry or back him so there will be skin contact at all time.

We are doing great tnx, he's not in the incubator, was put in NICU for a day cos they suspected jaundice, dint wait for the result to come out b4 commencing treatment. Very annoying, I cried. How could they o that to my tiny baby.

Pls mamas always listen to ur docs advice and of course seek a second opinion. She always told me we had to avoid anything that could set off labour, so was always running test checking for infection bladder, vag, full blood count, malaria, anything is treated immediately. No matter how often. It all worked to keep my lo in this long n I know it.

All glory be to God he is a healthy 1 week,1 day old baby today and sucking very well.

@ nazablossom, no they dont usually do it, my doc wanted to as well, it bleeds a lot. Was gonna tell her no, buh the emergency changed it all. Only the ones blocking the path of delivery were removed, the rest were left alone to be removed later. Got pics of the monsters, anybody wanna see?

Been following this great thread but glad to be officially part of the family today( hope am welcomed) please Sabi mamas, been married for three years, got pregnant late last year but lost it(blighted ovum) am preggy again( did a pt yesterday) but spotting brownish discharge. Was given a progesterone shot but still saw it today. I do not want bad history to repeat itself hence this post. Pls advice a first time mum. OK Thanks. just weighing my options . I have only two of tHe monster, but one is at lower segment blocking the cervix according to my last scan.will do another one by 36weeks. Take care of your jewel.

Happy Mothers Day, mamas! Pls o I am posting this to help one or two people. If it does that, I am fulfilled. *** Some hospitals and clinics do not monitor their student nurses and they use innocent lives to practice. A couple we know welcomed their new baby into the world two weeks ago in a reputable private hospital. They had registered in a good govt hospital too but those ones went on strike before the lady put to bed. *** The new born baby developed jaundice while they were still at the hospital. The parents asked to be discharged so they could take the baby to be treated with herbs for fast cure. The hospital said no that they will handle it. I don't know how it happened that those on duty on this fateful day were student nurses! Maybe cos it was night. The nurses inserted drip into the baby to give him blood. Student nurses oo... It seems they did not know how to properly handle jaundice in a baby. The poor baby died in the early hours of the day which was supposed to be his Naming Ceremony! The parents are gradually recovering with care and prayers. Pls Mums and Mums to be, lets be careful, vigilant, assertive and prayerful with our children. We pray we encounter only godly proffessional medical teams always. Amen.
