Be more specific. Are you doing a USD or euro transaction? Are you using a Nigerian or foreign paypal account? If you operate a Nigerian Paypal account and asking the difference between a Naira Mastercard, then they are same thing as regards charges in $. Nigerian Paypal accounts run on your Naira debit cards. For instance, you use Zenith bank Naira Mastercard to make a purchase and their rate is 360/$, it's same as using a Nigerian Paypal account because you would have to attach your Zenith master card to your paypal account in order to use it. If you however want to make a € transaction with paypal, they have their own conversion from $ to £ and vice versa. They would inform you of the equivalent Euro in USD. Bottom line is paypal operates in $. If you want to be sure, load a cart in € and proceed to the checkout page on paypal (you have to sign into your paypal account). Paypal would show you their equivalent of the € transaction in $. DO NOT CLICK PAY NOW if you do not wish to checkout. When you see the $ equivalent, multiply that by your bank rate for $.

Hello y'all please can someone verify dis problem for me...

I had N83,703 and some fraction in my stanbic account... and I purchased an item on ebay worth $55.52 and I got a shock of my life when I checked my balance online and I saw the sum of N52,606.44 in my account

I even I had to go to my PayPal statement to check if I purchased the item twice...

Has somebody experience this kind of problem before? Cos where I am now I can't have access to GSM network to call their CC

Any suggestions and possible solution is welcome

I have before u were actually charged twice..it might nt just reflect on your paypal statement yet..call the cc and follow it up it took them 40days before refunding me then so start the processing now by calling the cc and also mailing them infact bombard them..they will surely refund u..sorry abt tht though

Thanks I've mailed them waiting for their response... but calling them would have been more effective... but I'm out of GSM network coverage area, probably when I'm back next weekend... I just hope the email will just be effective sha

maybe you just got lucky, also experienced similar yesterday, I've called and mailed even with evidences but no response yet. I was told I had an option to either wait for 8 working days or the month end when accounts are reconciled. crap!
I'll keep pestering them.

Asin eh... I was pissed off when I realised the fault was from my bank... I included at the end of the email to the CC unit that if my account is not credited with the amount mistakenly or fraudulently deducted during the transaction then i'll flag up the case to the consumer protection unit of CBN, lol and I got a positive result within 6 hours.....

Bros seriously I don't have any idea... cos it's been long I used FBN for online transactions... Using StanbicIBTC

I had to resort to using stanbic's mobile app in order to check my balance, that's all. and their account is just temporary to me and due to need.

I doubt even if firstbank themselve know. I contacted them via twitter, no response, I sent a mail to their CC, no response yet. Just to tell me their exchange rate. Haba!
