In the real sense of it the percentage of the populace that want to milk this our nation dry tripled the ones that want it to survive, what a pity! Giant of Africa. Impunity have become synonyms with some Nigerians. Our country will one day get better by God,s grace amen.OBC

I just hate the way these so call Nutmegs and Pencunts keeps holding this country to ransome! all these years of their proliferating, rackettering mafioso style is not enough? Obviously downsizing and restructuring will means some thieves will loose their jobs, same as innocent one, am sure NNPC will have some kind of scheme instore to ease the pain of affected employees... possibly retrain their staff..............or..............4uck it...wat am i even typing self................ Their father!" mek them strike its not the 1st time their strike has happened and we still survive because they want to bury us not knowing we are seeds!

Some Nigerians on twitter have reacted to NNPC workers' protest of the recent unbundling of the oil corporation into 7 units. Some feel it is a welcome development as it will help address the alleged corruption in the oil corporation.

This country is a joke! The citizens are always interested in defending anything that pleases them regardless of the injury that might be done to others.

How many employees does NNPC have that they keep incurring mind boggling recurrent expenditures every year. Even their gatemen earn salaries and allowances that some professors can only dream of and there is too much opacity in their operations.

You unbundle NNPC despite there being a Petroleum Industrial Bill in the offing to ensure standard best practices; yet you merge Works, Housing and Labour Ministries, three key Ministries into one, and give one man a blank cheque to run these key sectors as he deems fit.....

Please, did Buhari ever learn to manage a corner shop before becoming President?

Change in nnpc. It only remains to know if the change is In The right direction or not. I think the government should have pursued the passing of the PIB coz I won't like it if we will come back to it after this present move seems not ok.

Up next, NTA, FRCN and Co. The average Nigerian believes working in a govt agency / parastatal automatically means GOING to the office without being productive all day for 30 days and get paid for doing nothing.

No time for sentiments... ALL govt parastatals and agencies must become efficient and effective. Annually Or suffer budget cuts and their M.Ds sacked
Re: Nigerian Twitter Reacts To NNPC Workers' Protest Of Unbundling Of NNPC by urboy1: 3:22pm On Mar 09, 2016
how anyone would call the workers greedy or corrupt is beyond me... how can NNPC be making such big move without inviting major stakeholders like the PEOPLE THAT ACTUALLY DO THE JOB (PENGASSAN and NUPENG)... who wants to hear or see his father and mother are having an official divorce on social media.. who really wants to see thathuh?
If they were so insignificant in the eyes of mr President, noone should complain if they decide to protest...., or didnt he know that they can protesthuh?
I must suggest to mr President, whoever is telling You.. that you can do whatever you wants without regards for the people involved shud be fired...

N.B..I do fear Oga is boycotting alot of democratic moves in his decision making, its opening new gateway for corruption in this country, and the next generation would pounce on this opportunity I fear.....

NNPC unbundled to increase transparency, reduce bureaucracy and ensure proper oversight.

Ministries with some overlap and serious redundancies merged to improve efficiency..especially as many of these ministries should never have been standalone if not for political expediency.

Ibe Kachiukwu was a well-regarded senior Executive at Mobil, managing many staff and charting company policy

Buhari rose to the ranks of General in the Nigerian Army, was the Commander in chief of the armed forces and has managed the PTF in the past.

Very good for the workers, let the minister give them option of resignation or continuation of service..those youths who have been praying for opportunity will at least get a wonderful chance to be employed . The present workers want the looting & inefficiency to continue..they don't have our support this time around for their selfish agitation

look at your mouth like "PIB in the offing" for 7 years now PIB has been in the offing with no end in sight. when the bill also seeks the unbundling of NNPC to optimize efficiency.

Ibe Kachikwu has been advocating the speedy passage of the bill and has said (during ministerial screening) that he will look to start working with various recommendations of the PIB that wont cause trouble with the NASS before it eventually passes the whole bill. and the unbundling is proof that Ibe Kachikwu totally knows what he's doing and doesn't know how to waste time and I'm sure buhari knows his worth.
