Vigilante is real! Congrats on safe delivery and kisses to your LO.
To me blenco prices are over hiked since they moved to this new place.
Everything is hiked except their baby face soap which is 250.
Although I haven't done shopping for baby things there before but my experience from buying others things there won't make me go there.
Would rather buy from dosunmu when am 4-5 months gone to avoid stress.
But since other mamas said baby things are affordable, u can try them.
I stay around addo market.

Able mamas I dey hail o. I went for immunisation today (14wks) so I met my cousin there. Her baby came for 6th month VitA. So we sha jammed there. When I Brought out Lamide's hot okababa (pap), she started screaming how i should do EBF and it's obvious that if I went for antenatal I wont go close to feeding bottles or formula or pap at all. I told her I didn't have interest in EBF and I don't have d energy, it's not something I was ever interested in (I absolutely hail mamas that do it o but me no get d power).

Now d gbege now happened when her dauta was weighed (7.7kg) and Lamide weighed (7.4kg) Na him darling cousin para again that how would my dauta be weighing what she should be weighing at 6months at 3months. She now annoyed me patapata by saying "I should watch d ARTIFICIAL things I feed my dauta".

I asked the nurse if my kid is overweight she said no.I don't feed my dauta nything apart from breast milk and pap + Nan1 and water.

Pls mamas what is in this EBF that is causing wahala everytime. What is supernatural inside. What of children that their mothers die, biko do they do EBF too. Infact because of d hype d more I am not interested. Pikin wey go smart go smart, d one wey go dull go dull. It's just prayer we need for this children.

Probably I don't understand some underlying gains of EBF, plsssssssssssssssssssssssss maybe someone should enlighten me and if God says I'll have more kids, I might see d need to do EBF.

health practitioners said it's better to do ebf, baby will be healthier, no contamination, less purging etc etc. but I know that well nd hygienically fed babies ll be just as healthy.

but I'm team ebf for now. It's the stress involved with formula feeding I don't want...However I know that these two are d should I say lucky ones? The others ll come at a time I ll be too busy to do exclusive.

your baby is obviously doing well and that's all that matters.

@Britneystacy, hi 5 my honourable team captain, I salute oh. I'm 19w + 3d today, by Saturday I will be half way gone. Sorry about the acne and rashes, it will soon be over, its part of the price you pay to have your lo, pele. I will be going for another scan by 2 weeks time , maybe I will know the sex then, I have my beautiful princess and hope for a boy now to balance the equation. As per the swollen feet, I also had it few weeks back and I made a concious effort to reduce my salt intake and also reduce the spices I use in my food and no more swollen feet now, you can try this too.

cherrymum not all mamas have the strength to do efb. Although, it's good but some mamas will prefer to supplement breast milk with other food. i have a friend whose mother in law is a matron in one of the government hospitals. She said her mil told her not to do efb because the issue of weaning and introducing other food to the child is usually difficult. but she tells other mamas to do ebf when they come for immunization lol. well, do the one that suits you what matters most is to have a healthy baby.

@serendipityF, I also had this reoccurringg headache in my early days. I went to the hospital and was checked, the doctor said my bp was okay and every other thing was okay also . I was sent for malaria parasite test and it came out negative, I actually taught I had malaria then and would be treated for it but the doctor didn't prescribe any drug for me, he told me I didn't have malaria so I should go home, take my prenatal drugs and take paracetamol anytiime I have headache and can't bear it. I was 15 weeks plus then. I think headache is part of the package for some preggy mamas at the early stage and I won't advice you to take any drug, you can check with your doc if you can't bear the pains anymore. Just have a warm bath, try to eat something, stay hydrated and relax for now, you will get better. Pele, we shall all enjoy the fruit of our labour in Jesus name, amen.

Cherrymum ebf is by decision, i intended to do it when i was pregnant not knowing that its not easy. My baby was small when i gave birth and also i did cs,it was becoming stressful for me and baby wasnt gaining weight my son can sleep for africa, when you think he is sucking its a lie he is actualy sleeping and i was lactating well. My dh&i came to conclusion to introduce nan after 2mths but my inlaws are a kind of people that believes in ebf they conderm babies that are nt ebf and i and dh already knows this,so we planned for them,i dont feed my baby nan in their presence once he wants to eat i take him to our room, prepare the formular there, lock d door &feed him, thank God he is a fast eater,i did this for 4good months without them knowing with the help of my dh. I put all the formular in my wardrobe and lock up cos they enter our room at times. Anytime they see me washing the feeding bottle and ask what are you using it for i simply tell them i pump breastmilk inside it and used it to train my lo bottlefeeding. Till today non of my inlaws and friends knows i didnt do ebf and i safed myself from unnecessary talk, abeg i no fit argue and debate.
I read on the Newborn thread then that some mothers claim they do ebf outside and when they get to one corner in their homes they feed their babies all kinds of food and drug naso i did mine. So if you cannot argue, debate and compare babies kindly do your wish secretly and breastfeed your lo publicly. My 2cent!!!

Hnmmmm, i'm 18weeks today went for a scan and ws told my cervix OS is slightly open sad. Cervical length 42mm and was advised to do a cerclage.

My worries, is it not too late to hv a cerclage? What are the disadvantges/advantages of having dis procedure done? Can d cervix close on its own without necessarily putting a cerclage? Pls mama's who hv gone thru dis pls answer me soon abeg.
Pls just make arrangements for the procedure asap, cerclage doesn't kill or harm u,it only helps u baby stay longer and to term, dont wait till amnotic fluid start leaking cos this is mostly the period d cervix shortens.i actually a quick procedure.i hope this helps

@ Fruitfulvine360, yes that is your baby you are feeling. Like flutters bah?
Get ready for Kungfu kicks wink grin

SerendipityF, yes its part of the preggy package.
Sleep well and on time, use PCM, avoid direct light ( u can wear shades in the afternoon and use coloured bulbs at night), stay hydrated.
But first check your PCV and do MP test.
I know someone who was taking too much Ferrous, the result was headaches and body pains.

On ebf, it is advisable and not compulsory.
Not everyone can breastfeed. What if you arent lactating well? Will u borrow somebody's breast.
But if you can, you should.
Breastmilk has a lot of pros and no single con.
- it contains the right proportion of nutrients that your baby needs. No issue of constipation or malnutrition
- it contains a lot of antibodies that help to fight illness till he is able to produce his.
- it is cheap
- it is safe. When you go to the hospital that your baby is ill. The first Q is, is he on ebf? If yes..... they are able to streamline what the problem is.
If no, they have a wider range of causes to treat.
- ebf prevents ppl from chooking anything in baby's mouth. You dont want to know the kind of water some sillly people can give baby to drink in your absence.
Also you dont have to be afraid that you bought fake milk.
- ebf makes you bond with your kid. Cos na MTN una go be, everywhere you go.
- they said it makes babies smart.
I hope with these few points of mine I have been able to convince you and not confuse you that if you have the time, strength and lactate well, then go the ebf way, you have nothing to lose and everything to gain.
To transition from breast to spoon feeding, fron like 4/5 months, the mother can extract milk and spoon feed the child.

As for me, I ebf-d my first cos I wasnt working.
For Atinuke, its combination feeding. Breastmilk till I go to work- Formula when I am away- Breastmilk once I get back and all night.

My BS

EDD according to my LMP was feb 28th, and I was praying serious for baby to come by 38 weeks, not knowing dat baby has his own plan. By 34 weeks I started having mild contractions dat will come and go and with dat i taught d baby will come on time. At 37 weeks I started taking pineapple. I will finish a whole pineapple to d extent dat I will start having running stomach, I did dat for 2 weeks and nothing happened. I became disappointed and stopped eating it.
At 40 weeks 3 days, I went for antenatal and told d doctor dat I want to be induced. But he said I should wait for another week dat if I don't fall in to labour I should come for induction. I left his office angrily and didn't even lock his door. On my way home d sun was very hot so I bought scweeps dat has block inside. After finishing it I bought another one and drank also. Then I boarded d vehicle to My house. On getting home, at about 4 o'clock, I went to d toilet to pee and to my greatest surprise, I saw blood inside d urine. I called my mum's attention to it and she said my dear labour don start oo.
Immediately, I started having very strong contractions dat were 10 mins apart with frequent visit to d toilet. When it got to 5 mins, I told my mum dat we should start going to d hospital. We got to the hospital exactly 9:00pm, I was checked but just 3cm dilated. I was asked to start walking around. I started walking oo. D pain became so severe dat I will lie on the floor, bend down, lie on the bench, tell my mum to rub my back, hold my hand. My mum said I should bear d pain, I told her dat I can't bear it, dat it's too much for me oo. I went to meet d matron to check me again around 1pm, she did and said it was 5cm and told me to lie down on the bed. When d pain will start, I will jump from d bed and start rolling on the floor. Matron said madam get up and stay in ur bed, I no answer am oo, make she dey talk her own for there. When d pain will come down, I will climb d bed. Dat was how I was doing it oo till contraction became like every minute. I started shouting nurse oo, I wan poo they didn't even answer me. I stood up to pee and my water bursted all over my body. Dat was wen d nurses came. After cleaning me up, I was asked to push when I feel d contraction. I did but nothing came forth, then I gathered all my strength and pushed my baby out at about 2:15 am with multiple tears all over. When I head his cry I was overwhelmed with joy and happiness.
Fast forward to d stitching, weather na d stitching Abi na d labour na him pain pass I no come know. Na so I dey shout. I even shout pass when I dey labour. But in all it was worth it. My DS is 12 days old today. Am so grateful to God almighty for blessing my family with this precious gift at exactly 10 months after marriage.

And to other pushing mamas, it will end in praise for u all. Ttc mamas d lord will give u double.

Vigilante mamas, I throway salute.
Congratulation new moma! I pray ur LO bring joy to ur household .

Cherrymum did I just read pap at 14wks

You don't have to do ebf but pls stick with baby food AKA formula till at least 6 months

Pardon me if I read the 14 wks wrongly tho

Zaynie I'm with you exactly I did ebf for my first and she was never sick or anything. She caught her first cold the week I weaned at 11 months. The immunity in breast milk is top notch

For my second I'm doing combination cuz of work and don't have energy to wake up at night to pump esp as LO doesn't wake up either to feed.

To each it's own but pls lets stick to baby food till 6 months. If you must introduce cereal at 4 months I think oat and rice only are adviced
