according to what I read..the op said 'eye drop'..once you are allergic to something you are allergic to it no matter the form..all I'm saying is its not her first time of using an eye drop,she must have noticed the allergy..she's probably allergic to one of the chemicals used in producing it.
I'm allergic to shrimps so even if i eat shrimp cracker..shrimp cake..once there's shrimp I get itchy throat..about the age bro at 24 she should have known what's good for her body and what's not..please don't forget I wished her a quick recovery.

true,but this has nothing to do with allergy, this is the second case am reading about,an allergy shouldn't be this bad,and has rightly said by you if its an allergy for real,at that age she would have known she is allergic to it,and no one deliberately causes harm to himself/herself,people reject malaria shots atimes cuz chloroquine causes itching,the other story i Read about had thesame symptoms and reactions,the fellow only took a pain reliever as prescribed by the doc,and it began his ordeal.

Please before people start making comments that are insensitive they should make effort to get some information. Just Google Stephen Johnson syndrome and read. It would do you a lot of good. Do you know that common drugs such as Ibuprofen, Paracetamol, Penicillins and Sulphur containing drugs (like the common 3-in-1 antimalarials) can cause an unexpected reaction like she is having now.
The good thing is if she is properly managed she may recover without a scar. May you have a quick and perfect recovery in Jesus name.

I didn't deny the fact that, the doctors were able to trace her case to allergy (Steven Johnson; though not familiar with it.)
But, I don't really know why my heart keep reminding me of a king in the Bible, who refused to reference God when his people equaled his wisdom to that of God. We all know the end of this king.
The fact that, she lost her beauty did not help my thinking at all. (Just my thought and does not affect or change any thing.)
But, all the way, bless God she survived it. Though at a very HIGH COST.

I lost a cousin to the SJD in 2009 and it still ranckles, he reacted to an artesunate brand and doctors could not diagnose the condition until wayy too late

I am a science student but I have always been conscious with taking any forms of drugs. To those saying the chemist should be probed, it was an allergic reaction which means the problem is solely her body system against the eye drop.
Pls never take any medication without doctor's prescription. I wish her total and permanent recovery.
