I thought you were going to list different ways palm Sunday is misinterpreted by the modern church, but you only quoted scriptures and mentioned the Catholic church. Is that all? Is it the Catholic practice that is wrong or all other practices? Maybe I'm not seeing too well or don't understand.

I woke up this morning and then decided to read through different social media platform with my phantom 5 about what people interpret about palm Sunday but I feel truth must be told so I decided to just write little i think we should know about palm Sunday.

Palm Sunday is the Sunday before Easter and begins Passion Week. It is the day that Christians celebrate Jesus' "triumphal entry" into Jerusalem, an event recorded in Matthew 21:1-11 , Mark 11:1-11 , Luke 19:28-44 , and John 12:12-19 . On that day, as Jesus and His disciples travelled toward Jerusalem, Jesus sent two disciples ahead to locate a donkey. They returned with the donkey and spread their cloaks on it, and then Jesus rode into Jerusalem on the donkey. When He did, crowds gathered, spreading their clothes and branches (John specifies palm branches) on the ground and shouting, "Hosanna! Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord, even the King of Israel!" (John 12:13 ). "Hosanna" is a term of praise that also carries with it a cry for salvation or help. Making a path with garments or branches was a customary way of honoring a person (2 Kings 9:13 ), similar to laying out a red carpet in modern times.

Palm branches were seen as symbolic of victory. Interestingly, in ancient Egypt palm branches were used in funeral processions to represent eternal life. In Eastern tradition a donkey symbolizes coming in peace; it is used in place of a war horse to make the distinction. In essence, the people were praising Jesus and asking Him to be their Messiah, though likely in a political context rather than in a spiritual context. Sadly, less than a week later, the same people shouting "Hosanna" would shout "Crucify him" (John 19:6 ).

Today, many churches celebrate Palm Sunday with reenactments of the triumphal entry. Catholic churches often bless palm branches with holy water and then distribute them to congregants. These palm branches are then saved for use the following Ash Wednesday. In regions where palm branches are not readily available, branches of other trees are used.

Re: The Misinterpretation Of The Palm Sunday by Zenlife:
These borrowed alien religions and practices that has been for ages and continue to underdevelop and blind Nigeria, will remain Nigeria's, Africa's greatest anathema.

A religion of christianity and islam brought to Nigeria by those who destroyed Nigeria, Africa, raped your women, killed your men and women, hung them on trees in foreign lands at will and for entertainment. A religion introduced to you by thieves and savages and murderers. A christian religion that the pope recently literarily qualified as a tale, a hoax - 'no heaven or hell'.
Religions of violence- the crusade, the jihad. Yet you doggedly embrace it.

About 2 days ago i read a post on NL about the lost magnificient city of Benin. A city described by white authors as one of the finest in the world all things considered. A city of unparralled mathematical planning and constrution, even greater than China. A Benin kingdom that knew no theft or true crime. Homes that had no doors despite its wealth and opulence etc.

This is who Nigeria before the influx of the criminal, deceptive christian bible-totting and gun totting white man. Since their coming and continued presence, things have fallen apart with no center to hold.

Nigeria does not need imitated foreign constitutions or system of governance from nobody and surely not from people that were developmentally handicapped, criminals who resided in caves, when your forefathers thrived in wealth, established governmental system, envied by the then visiting caucasians and authors in their own descriptive words.

This borrowed religious and political systems is but a tool for the few in power to milk and drain resources for personal, family and tribal gains and choke and oppress the populace.

The unemployment, hunger, wide-spread illiteracy is by design and deliberate. The perceptive split between the east (Ibo) and the west (yoruba) is likewise a deliberate political tool employed by the north for political dominance of Nigeria - 'divide and rule'. Yet the egotistic, greedy, topple-brained southern leaders are too blind or consciously and selfishly choose not to see.

With the suspected 'islamization' of Nigeria with sharia laws as announced by CAN, wisdom demands now more than any other time, for east, south and west unity and solidarity.

A hungry man is usually not a rational thinking man. Nigerian democrazy today is the masses worst enemy, yet the masses slumber on, unproductively filling these fake fraudulent religious houses, with hope for a better tomorrow. THAT SELF-DECEIVING 'BETTER TOMORROW' AS IT IS WILL NEVER COME!

Nigeria must rewind to the governmental and traditional religious practices that made a place like the lost Ancient kingdom of Benin (Edo), one of the top 5 kingdoms of the world, just a few centuries back. All alien religions and governmental systems must be discarded.

As a nation and a people, you will never see, taste or sniff your fore-fathers peaceful co-existence, opulence, wealth and lifestyle until you discard of these alien anathemas. You will only keep chasing shadows and remain cursed till consumed in your own disillusioned retch.

As you make your beds so you lie on it.

God and the gods are truly not to blame.

Quite a read and it would sure have been more interesting without the 'Phantom 5' phantom seeming to pop up in the piece every now and then. Again, I was waiting for the real gist (the misinterpretation), and I seem to have waited in vain.
