The Power Of The Human Thought by dwilliams(op): 11:21pm On Mar 20, 2016
Good evening my co-nairalanders and visionaries.
I would like to begin by asking a question.
Q1: how many times have we left work or somewhere and decided to go home without really paying attention to our mind while we drive or trek. We were in deep thoughts but perhaps our mind was in an auto pilot mode but we found ourselves home after some time.
Q2:has it ever happened to anyone here.you av an occasion you want to attend perhaps you don't av an alarm on your phone.but you told yourself you want to wake up before time x, and you did!
I am not here to bore you with lengthy notes but I will entertain questions after I am done here, but please let's all bear in mind that this discus has no inkling or relationship with religion but there will be certain citations from religious books to corroborate facts here.
The human mind is the most power weapon ever. It is just like the sun! The sun has no conduction you can't see it,but it has the ability to set a house on fire or even break a mirror, that is the way d human mind operates. The most potent form of energy is thought because thought-waves are cosmic waves penetrating all time and space.
Watch your thoughts, they become words.
Watch your words, they become actions.
Watch your actions, they become habits.
Watch your habits, they become your character.
Watch your character, it becomes your destiny.
A man is but the product of his thoughts - what he thinks, he becomes.
M.Ghandi
It might be a belief that we are no good in math or that we are a person nobody likes or that we can't succeed in the business world or that we can't succeed in sports or that we can't succeed in relationships and so on.
The way you perceive and interpret yourself is a result of the belief system you adopted while growing up.
Back in 1960 Maxwell Maltz wrote the book
Psycho-Cybernetics where he talks about the self-image we form growing up:
We all carry with us a mental blueprint or picture of ourselves. It has been built up from our own beliefs about ourselves. But most of these beliefs about ourselves have unconsciously been formed from our past experience, our successes and failures, our humiliations, our triumphs, and the way other people have related to us, especially in early childhood. From all these we mentally construct a "self" (or a picture of a self). Once an idea or a belief about ourselves goes into this picture it becomes "true" as far as we personally are concerned. We do not question its validity, but proceed to act upon it just as if it were true.
Maltz goes on to say that all our actions, feelings, behavior - even our abilities - are always consistent with this self-image.
Hence it becomes very important to change your self-image if that image is one of a limiting character of some sort.
You can change your self-image with the power of thought using affirmations and subliminal messages.
Our built in beliefs are powerful.

Our thoughts ar very powerful and science z doing exciting experiments wit d power of thought.
In July 2007 the Silicon Valley company Nerosky launched a device that lets you control a computer game just by using your thoughts.Neurosky and other companies are doing intensive research into the field of mind and the power of thought. They are developing even more sophisticated devices capable of applying human thoughts.
Since the power of thought is a very potent form of energy that penetrates all time and space we need to be aware of what we think.
Fortunate for the human race we are able to control our thoughts. We can use our mind and practice the process of thinking. We can make ourselves think thoughts of what we want to be or have.
In 1903 Wallace D Wattles wrote his book The Science of Getting Rich and a central part of the book is about thinking regardless of circumstance.
To think what you want to think is to think truth regardless of appearances. To think according to appearances is easy. To think truth regardless of appearances is laborious and requires the expenditure of more power than any other work you have to perform.ANYTHING IS POSSIBLE as long as you believe and truly engage yourself with your thoughts, mind and being.

But how will you apply the Power of Thought?
By surrounding yourself with supporting people and by using affirmations.
When you really want to achieve something it is important to be around friends and people who support you. This will inspire you - spur you on and when at times the goal seem far away your supporting friends and people can get you back on track.
This will be like an affirmation - a statement that you can do the unthinkable - that you are capable of anything you set your mind to.
Affirmation and subliminal messages
In order to change a limiting belief system about yourself you can start applying affirmations. Write down affirmations on a piece of paper and say them to yourself in your mind every night before you go to sleep.
I am strong
I am smart
I am confident
I am successful
I am rich
I am a good person
I can achieve anything I want
and so on...
What the mind can conceive - you can achieve.
This is why a person with a vivid mind - a mind applying creative visualization can achieve incredible result.
Use the power of thought and creative visualization to manifest dreams and create change.
When we forget to use visualization and imagination, it is like not using our minds. Jose Silva
The mind cannot tell the difference between an experience in real life or an experience you create in your mind. By creating and visualizing different things you would like to happen in your life you are actually making them happen

I would like to conclude by using the placebo effect. A case whereby some is giving a fake drug and they are told it will cure or solve their problems,in most cases this often works because the person has created d believe it will.
Most religious bodies make use of things like dis.
Meditations which involves deliberate ctr and guidance of d human thought is used by most spiritual bodies and also the teaching of faith. Which means substance of things hoped for evidence not seen. Most successful artist including our indigenous ones do tell encourage ppl to believe n themselves because they are a direct product of their thought.
U would like to refer my audience to famous books that I have that I used as my citations
1)The audacity of faith by Bishop Oyedepo
2)think and grow rich by Napoleon hill.
3)the secret,the power bybRhonda bryne
4)As a man thinketh James Allen treasury
5)The power of the subconscious mind by Joseph Murphy'
6)the power of thinking without thinking Malcolm gladwell
7)How your subconscious rules your behavior Leonard mlodinov.

The human mind is the most powerful tool in the universe,we underate the power of the mind. Yesterday i was able to heal a pain in my throat with it,it disappear without recurrence,i'm still learning to tame this sleeping giant that works with FAITH.(faith is spiritual and not religious,it doesn't have to do God attached to it,the power its just there.)

Using the power of mind what happens if you push yourself beyond your limit? I think one should have a thorough knowledge of his self before applying mind power.

it has its merits and demerits. Another recognised power is the subconcious mind, take for instance, you rely on the alarm to wake you at 5am,at length you'd realised even without the alarm you'd still wake up by 5am,creating an auto-pilot mode automatically. This is responsible for acclimatisation of a new situation, surrounding, climates etc.Its a wonder, but sometimes it doplay tricks on us,imagine you're in a bus, pressed and was looking to make home on time to visit the toilet grin. The closer you approach your house, the more the urge intensifies until you head to the toilet door and it seems as if you'll eventually pass it out right at the door grin but one pause to consider: what if the bus was broken at the road, the urge would recess automatically too.

I beg to differ Sir, a properly trained mind has no demerit

what of if you're an average tennis player (talent wise) but keep driving yourself hard to win a professional tennis tournament. Is it not wise to quit wasting your time and channel your energy to something you're better at? Do you get me?

a meagre human life span is never enough to train the mind.Mistakes let you understand how to win the game effectively.
