Konfuse ga di mama shocked I requested for the two actually. All the same thanks for the clarification. Though I've read some user comments in the forum bout the phone. A call to a phone tech friend of mine puts it that the brand lack serviceable parts and support. How true is this, is this gonna be another Injoo Leap? More so I noticed no NFC on the brand.

@Nsonaso, can I have your take on this device? ZTE
AXON MINI 4G Smartphone 5.2''FHD Octa-Core 32G

Guys help before I go back to Nokia again.

Just to inform anybody that wants to know, I got my unlock permission yesterday. But the default global ROM / chinese ROM cannot be used to unlock the bootloader (even though it says so on the announcement for the 7.1.18.0 chinese / 7.1.7.0 global rom). If you want TWRP (or any other customer recovery) installed or you want permanent root, you need to flash the developer rom (that's 6.3.17) using MiFlash first, then you can do the bootloader unlock from that ROM, after, you flash the global ROM back.

The process is kinda complicated though; there is no default recovery menu like previous Mi/RedMi phones - just a silly little phone-and-charger-cable image. You have to issue some ADB commands and all that. I almost bricked my phone in the process, but I have root privileges now! cool

If you're scared about repairing your device when faulty, then I don't think ZTE is a good replacement for Xiaomi as both doesn't have their Service Center here in Nigeria and also are not too popular for people to import their spare parts into the country (based on my knowledge)

2. The ZTE you mentioned is a very good phone but for the fact that it has the same spec with Xiaomi Redmi Note 3 doesn't mean both sale at the same price. ZTE, Oppo, Huawei are all Chinese OEM but their product are very very expensive. Believe me the ZTE you mentioned will not be priced less than $300 (though am not too sure but I assumed based on experience).

3. About repairs, the Xiaomi Redmi Note 4G FDD a friend bought for me since 2013 is till intact till date.

Better replacement in terms of availability of repair parts, Samsung, HTC, Sony, LG

Xiaomi launched the first flagship smartphone for Redmi series – Redmi Pro, and Mi Notebook Air, on July 27. We have done disassembly teardown review for the 12.5″ and the 13.3″ Mi Notebook Air already, today we are going to do a disassembly teardown review for Redmi Pro. Xiaomi Redmi Pro features OLED display, dual cameras and full metal alloy chassis, most importantly, it sells for 1499 yuan ($230) to 1999 yuan ($307).

In people’s past experiences, Redmi is low range and budget smartphone, different from Mi smartphones. Its killer tactic is the pricing from 700 yuan ($108) to 800 yuan ($123). However this time Redmi Pro hits the price tag for Mi series.   Redmi Pro is the most expensive Redmi series smartphone ever, and Xiaomi positions it as the all Chinese smartphone, powering MediaTek Helio X20/X25 Octa Core CPU coupled with 3GB/4GB Ram. And the variants with 32GB, 64GB, 128GB are offered. The 5.5 inches OLED display shows sharp, gorgeous and vivid image. The 5MP front camera makes great sense to those selfie lovers,  and the 13MP rear dual camera takes great photos. A fingerprint scanner is embedded in the front Home button.

Though the specifications is solid high and the performance is reportedly very powerful, yet what about the inside? What about the build quality? This disassembly review will unveil the answers. The one we disassemble is the top advanced version with the best specs. http://www.xiaomiinsider.com/xiaomi-redmi-pro-disassembly-teardown-review-get-know-build-quality/
