The global rom (with English menus, not Chinese) is now available here: http://en.miui.com/thread-92720-1-1.html. But you still need to unlock the bootloader to use this ROM. I'm waiting fro my unlock code from Xiaomi.

No, you just flash it, you only need to unlock bootloader when you brick your phone or wanna install third party rom.

Been using it since yesterday; No bug or issues for now. Seems the fingerprint is even faster than the Chinese rom.

Bought it with my dollar account.. So I can't actually calculate the amount. Got it within 4 days through my agent in China for 3k.

That's using black market exchange rate which is about 320 - 330 NGN per USD plus shipping cost.
