Considering the painful cramps that accompany menstruation,do you think it makes sense to ask or be granted leave?

Better be a stay at home mum than deceive yourself that you work only to receive all kinds of leave. This was what our great grand fathers envisaged and thought it wise for the women to take care of the home than work.

It will be detrimental to the women folk in a big way. Who wants to employ someone who will miss about a week from work every month? Think women are clamouring for gender equality? Menstrual leave will mean lower pay for women, cos I would like to believe you won't expect to earn same wages with a guy who was at his duty post every working day of the month when you missed a whole week of work. The menstrual leave is not even feasible, it can't work. Maybe a private company can enact it but even at that, it won't work

Even with the so called leave, will they stay at home?

well, it depends on the duration of the leave you are talking about.

if u work in my company and u come to me that u have cramps, i will tell u to go home and rest for two days.

but anything 3days or more... no no no *in talking cat's voice*

Why give women special consideration in everything. Academically, they don't meet up. Professionally, most of them struggle until they apply the " bottom power". Why the fvck do we need to give them special considerations in everything. I thought they were equal to men. How come they are so good when it comes to frivolities?
