ABUJA – At a time when Nigerians were expecting respite from the pangs of the lingering fuel scarcity in the country, the Minister of State for Petroleum, Mr. Ibe Kachikwu has apparently dashed their hopes, stating that the current queues at gas stations would persist till late May.

The minister who doubles as the Group Managing Director, GMD of the Nigerian National Petroleum Cooperation, NNPC added that he was not a magician to make the queues disappear overnight.

He said: “One of the trainings I did not receive is that of a magician but I am working very hard to ensure some of these issues go .

But you know that the circumstances under which the present administration is working is far worse than when PDP was in power. There is a global economic melt down due to the slump in crude oil prices. So don't blame Buhari. Blame the poor economy.

oga the global melt down u talk abt started from GEJ regime. so get your facts right.

Yes he really is a BIG liar, he was saying another story last week

We will expose the allocation he's been giving a particular Northern 6 letter state governor and his corner deals if he keeps bragging and saying rubbish like I am not a magician.

That's the height of telling us to do what we want while they keep smiling in their air conditioned offices and fky 1st class to Opec Meetings that make no sence to us.

Is it not a shame Nigeria the only oil producing country with queues at filing stations

Shameless Leaders

This is why Africa is in shamble... So PMB did not have an initial economic study through employed experts when we was promising electric train and haven in Nigeria... Don't blame any poor economy... These old men has nothing to offer us... Both PDP and APC

These idiots that told GEJ that not having fuel scarcity throughout his regime wasn't something he should use in campaigning because to them there is nothing special about it... Now just few months into their own regime, Nigerians are being faced with untold hardship... Na wah o

For months now we have been buying fuel for 150 and above and everybody is getting used to it.

What a bunch of failures... Noise makers without action... Yet zombies are still linking their fuccking ass.
GEJ didn't approach d issue of fuel scarcity holistically. He was only patching up things by importing enough PMS but d root of Nigeria fuel woes was not dealt with truout his 6yrs in power. This is d difference with Buhari's government that is bent on solving d problem once for all instead of to keep importing, and Kachikwu has just given u less few months to get d job done. You are still complaining. We are not patient....

Zombie ooo zombie...
Zombie no go go unless you tell am to go
Zombie!
Zombie no go stop unless you tell am to stop
Zombie!
...

I guess Fela saw tomorrow.

Wall street and major world markets crashed years ago, we didnt witness this magnitude of hardship and suffering, yet FG wants to increase VAT disproportionately and Farce-ola just increased electricity tarriffs in exponents and plans to bring back toll gates? Minimum wage has not increased, mass labour retrenchment ongoing, add fuel scarcity and hike in price of fuel which I trust would soon be made official as people are already getting used to black market prices and this opportunistic government would soon cash in on it to blackmail Nigerians and brainwash the zombies into believing that it would bring an end to the scarcity.

what will dullarpo do when oil finally becomes $10?
I guess another type of tax to compliment VAT would be invented, afterall they have invented the postage stamp tax at the banks. Every move by this govt. is to squeeze out more cash from your minimum wage and deliver zero service for it. These guys are highway robbers.

you are not well informed. Its cheaper and easier to import fuel now than it was a year ago. Don't support mediocrity, Nigerians are suffering terribly. In fact, Buhari should be impeached before we enter into recession and anarchy

I think most of us have lost sight of the fact that the problems we have today is as a result of years of visionless leadership of which PDP took part in 16years of it.If old refineries have been fixed and new ones built we wouldn't have these problems we have today. This cuts across all sectors of our economy. As for me PDP takes the blame for most of the problems we have today, they had 16 straight years without interuption to fix many issues but they refused.Nigeria generated the highest revenues from crude during their period and i stand to be corrected but they failed to use it for the benefit of all.So it will be too early in the day to blame this present government for fuel scarcity and other issues,i feel we should be patient and give them time.

Slump in crude oil prices does not and will never cause GLOBAL economic melt down.
That said, the the real GLOBAL ECONOMIC MELT DOWN was experienced under GEJ's tenure and it was not as bad as it is now.
May GOD help us all, something is just not right in this govt.

The simple answer is to let the naira float and deregulate the price of petrol and kerosene

The naira's fall against the CFA will make petrol smuggling more lucrative than ever as the petrol price was daftly left unchanged!

Government of excuses.
At first it was that the cabinet was yet to be named and once that was done, Nigerians would start reaping the benefits of change.

Then cabinet was named ...and it turned to blame season. Blame GEJ, blame OBJ, blame IBB, blame blame blame.

Then they said it is because budget of yams has not been passed.

Then now it is oil slump cum global meltdown...and other countries are living La vida Loca. I guess Nigeria is now global.

Budget has been passed, lets wait for the next excuse.
