[s]If in your world, your worth/position as a human being is tied to your money, I cannot help you.

If your women are considered inferior to men because the men provide, sorry for you.[/s]

And you start to wonder why your wives treat you as second class citizens when you have little setbacks.

[s]Oh! I forgot, @that point, you are inferior.[/s]
Amidst the usual incoherent and directionless diatribe, I couldn't help but notice the bold text.

Are you speaking from experience therein?

I'm glad you said you stand to be corrected.
Well consider yourself corrected.

*Most women release only one egg per month. Only few times can one release more than one egg.

*And honey the eggs aren't in the womb. The womb houses the fertilized egg until when it's ready to be born. ( as a baby of course. Just in case I'd to spell that out too)

*Eggs are in the ovaries not the womb.

*The amount of blood you lose during menstruation has nothing to do with the number of eggs you release in that cycle.

Women should check their ovaries monthly? huh it's not as easy as malaria test.

You're right about the bolded though.
halfricanadian:
Wana have my eggs frozen or i give birth early

Ladies thinks their eggs will last forever or its until dey hit 45 meno pause age so dey can have kids until dey hit menopause

Ladies listen for every unfertilised eggs flushed as mensturation reduces d amount of eggs in d womb
Men produces sperm daily women dont produce eggs daily infact we shed eggs out as mensturation

The older u are d more blood u av shed d more eggs flushed d lower d amount of eggs dats why its usually difficult for older women to conceive nd very very easy for younger women to conceive

And my advise ladies with heavy flow of blood during menses shd always give birth early sha or freeze their eggs cos it doesnt multiply bt reduces

Some women can shed lots of fertile eggs as menses at age 25 nd b very difficult to giv birth even if she had never done abortion sef its always good for women to go check their ovaries nd womb monthly to kno wats up nd wen to act fast

I learnt dis in biology i stand to b corrected tho smiley

You only release one egg per cycle. No matter how much blood is shed during menses. It's very very rare for a woman to release more than one egg in a cycle unless she takes certain fertility drugs.

Every other thing u said is more or less correct.

It costs like $10,000-12000(N2m) to freeze eggs and $500-800 for subsequent years.
That is cheap for a serious 'career' woman.
This is someone that owns her own house, her state of art car, has more than enough in her account, earns like N2m monthly.
We are talking about your typical high profile, money hustling, target driven, super focused boss lady here.
Heck! You men buy cars that cost more than that.

Picture this:
A young lady in her early 20s has to make a choice between getting married and starting a family or going for this Graduate Trainee job. She goes for the job, gets thru and is paid like 200k monthly.
She's single and earning that. The job is time consuming and exhausting. It doesnt give her any chance to meet guys and the few times she hooks up, she can't follow through. Soon she is 30. She knows there is a clock ticking somewhere and she longs to have a family.
She talks to her Gyne and he tells her about this freezing of eggs that costs N2m. Even if it means saving up for it. She does.
Fast forward to 40. Fast forward to a full blown 'career woman'. No husband, No marriage. Tell me she won't remember her frozen eggs somewhere.
Some women will even take loan from their workplace to freeze the eggs and pay back over time.

@Crackhaus, do you mean a single supposedly smart woman with a good job or a thriving business will work for 10 good years and not be able to afford N2m?
Haba!

Dont get me wrong, I am very pro-marriage. But if a girl wants to hustle....good for her!
In the light of recent economic changes I would say your financial figures are wrong. But all in all you have a good idea of the process. One or two things though.

@bolded, not many ladies can afford said amount. And even if they could I think they would be better off using the money for more important endeavors like acquiring land, building houses, setting up businesses, etc. Why go through all the stress of freezing your eggs when you're not even sure what the future holds for u? How hard is it to get a man to love and marry u and give u kids (lol) than having to rely on a technology that in many ways has not been perfected? And where r u freezing the eggs? Our nigeria? For 10yrs? With our Peculiar conditions? Hmmmm.

All in all I still think the natural process is still the best (and cheapest) way to go.

P. S for those trying to compare the deterioration rates of male and female reproductive cells. Female cells deteriorate faster and ovaries are far more fewer than sperm. Laughably so. It's just the way it is.

So the author's mama advised her to have a career and all her friends' mamas did too but they didn't find fulfillment in their careers because they were dreaming of cooking so they now seek fulfillment in marriage even though their mamas didn't find fulfillment in marriage? grin grin grin

Women .... grin grin grin

If I had to choose - and I don't - I would choose a big pile of money over any relationship / marriage. grin grin grin

Children? Beautiful if you have them, no regrets if you don't. No pregnancy, no stretching of your belly and vag.ina grin no sleepless nights, no stinky diapers.

Lol. Same thing I thought too when I typed "consequences of extremism".

Who told them they had to chose?

Haba!
If this hypothetical single and supposedly smart woman with a good job has to work for 10years to afford N2m before undergoing the process of harvesting and freezing her eggs, I'm afraid she may not have any viable eggs left to freeze at the end of said 10years.

But we also know that it doesn't really cost just N2m, don't we? way more expensive than that...

Women are having babies later and later now. For a woman who chose to purse a career she would have been able to save money and can explore egg freezing, surrogacy e.t.c There are many options available to women these days .

Let's say freezing eggs is 3m, if it takes a career woman 10years to save that amount then i'll have to wonder what career she's pursing in the first place. In actual fact many career women use that amount to buy a few bags. You have to remember that single career people have fewer dependents than their married counterparts giving them the opportunity to save and even splurge towards things that many married people with kids can't afford.

Many woman buy cars for that amount so what's the big deal about using the money to freeze eggs? why would she need to freeze them in Nigeria when she can travel to anywhere with better facilities. A single career woman or man will generally have money disposal income since she has fewer dependents generally so after buying land and whatever why should't she invest in freezing her eggs. The whole point of freezing eggs is to give the woman more options so she can make the best choice for herself about how and when to have a child versus having one because time is going. After freezing the eggs she can always get a sperm donor and have the baby if in future she doesn't meet a man she wants to marry. That's what former Beauty Queen Nike Oshinowo did and she chose a white sperm donor sef so the kids are mixed race (twins). You'll be surprised by how many wealth career women have taken that option

and when you decide to unfreeze them and have a baby I hope you will also have the energy to look after a new born and nurture her through her formative years, her turbulent teen years and so on.

I think people should stop propagating the falsehood that age doesn't affect the reproductive health of men.
At least for your own sakes.

The older the father is, the higher the risk of him fathering abnormal kids.
hehehehehehe!!!
Re: Don't Delay Pregnancy: D'oh! by Nobody:

In this time and era, the biological clock is being stalled.
A man can impregnate a woman at any time but his ability to be father that child will be very difficult.
A woman may not be able to carry a pregnancy at that age but her ability to be mother will be hers till she dies or grows too weak at 80 there about.
So yes, she may take all the time in the world, freeze her eggs, get a donor or a husband perhaps and a surrogate and have her child at 50 after having a career and still be an awesome mother.
Unless we are only interested in 'borning' the children and not raising them that is.

Perhaps I should have put my biological in quotes.

Bukatyne, my first paragraph wasn't in reference to the OP.
The 2nd was. That's my position about the topic.
The way some 'feminist' came on too strong is the main reason some women aren't interested in it and then defy everything its all about.
and why can't his ability to father that child go on even at 60? I know a man who's daughter and husband died. The old man, almost through with his 60s now, has been taking care of his grand children for the past 8-9 years and he plays his father role beautifully! Infact, his grandchildren call him father and not grandpa. Most people around, who don't know, think they are his direct children. So, what exactly are we talking about?

I agree men need energy to run around and make their sons behave and the best time we can do it, is when we are youngest. But what most men do with strength, some men do with voice and character.
