This thing has gone on for so long now that it is too obvious to us. They are long predicted before happening. A Yoruba man will be talking details of airport in the east and faulting it, so they can stop work. Wat do u call that? |

The project these greedy folks wont let us to rest over are nothing short of necessity. They are not luxury project as u see in Lagos that involve pouring money into atlantic ocean. Nigeria population is ever increasing, Lagos clashes are getting worst, the government is deporting fellow Nigerian citizens. Is it not wise to have seaport and airport across the nation to ease overcrowding? Why should people spend six hours on a bus to lagos before getting a flight out of the country in 2016? Where is the progress in that? The project are a necessity and should not be interfered with under any guises. 1 Like |

Ioannes: Pls mention any of the looting scandals you're referring to. I guess you're another product of bad education, who cannot discern between fact based allegations and innuendos. Innuendos are deliberately written for the stuupid amongst us, which Unfortunately happen to be in the majority, and who don't have the reasoning faculties to sift through fallacies, conjectures and innuendos. |

They shud close down Lagos international airport and probe those who in the past cudn't carry out a better job overthere when compared with its counterpart in europe. Any attempt to close down enugu international airport must be rejected. if they feel a need to probe oduah over contracts awarded, fine. But no attempt shud be made @ bringing economic activities in this airport to halt. 1 Like |

new2020:education/literacy, I had once had an argument with a Nigerian,I said reasoning is always rational when logicality is applied in any situation. let us ask this question and answer it rhetorically; what will this Government gain as all this revelation is sent to the public, will it not have cover it to suit themselves or they want to use for self esteem and commit their own atrocities? I have asked,if OBJ were thief,at least he had accused Atiku several time that he (atiku) is can't travel to US,and this same Atiku has never accused obj unless for the third time bid. I said again let support did course, what we failed to support in 84 when Babagida took over that is now hunting us,will happened again. why are they afraid of probe?is it their money?go to d EFCC and explain your account if u are OK they will free u.please go . |

Activa: Activa, I think you're wasting your time even responding to this character's insinuation. Some people are just too far gone in ethnic chauvinism to realize when they themselves are the primary victims of the politicians they champion. How any sane person can defend shoddy work by a politician who doesn't even know they exist, especially when that poor work is in their own backyard, is beyond me; you'd think they'd be the ones who should be the most outraged at being ripped off by one of their own! If more Nigerians understood where their true interests lay, they'd be begging for more scrutiny of "their" politicians, instead of rushing to defend crooks by shouting "witch hunt!" and "leave our son/daughter alone!" You can be sure, for example, that Kwara politics has been changed for the better by Saraki's indictment, as well as the subsequent stoning he received when he came to Ilorin. Nigerian politicians will only start to realize they can't get away with business as usual when the usual calls to tribalism cease to bring them protection. 1 Like |

omohayek: Thank u for adding ur voice to work in my backyard as u put it. Before that politician, did all the many politicians both past and present not see work is needed in my backyard? Now that one politician have built an airport in use for the past three years, u politicians have eye to see fault in my backyard. Leave the fault and take your eye back to your own backyard. It should not be that hard. As for the politician that worked on my backyard, may her days be long and blessing be abundant. I have nothing but thanks and love for her, that will never die. We are grateful! 1 Like |

Activa: Which serious govt that has a 4-year mandate waits for nearly 1/4 of the tenure without implementing a single budget? I prefer a govt that does something tangible with or without some corruption than one that does nothing. Or waits till our money becomes like Zimbabwe dollar. ![]() ![]() ![]() We had many aviation ministers since 1999, what exactly did they do? I have regularly used Nigerian airports for close to 25 years. Oduah's time has been the best since. If she's found to be corrupt/guilty by a court of law, let her cough out her loot and serve the appropriate time in jail. If not, people should park well and stop the nonsense. 3 Likes |

waternogetenemy: You can continue to be grateful to her and her ilk all you want: no doubt she and her fellow crooks will continue to provide you with the quality of governance which corresponds to such blind tribalistic support, ie abysmal. Just don't turn around and start blaming supposed conspiracies by other ethnicities for the failings of the leaders who you refuse to hold to account, and don't start crying "marginalization" after insisting that the rest of the country has no business scrutinizing "your" politicians for anything they do in your backyard. As for my part, I prefer good government to cheap tribal sentiment, and if you and anyone else in Nigeria were to file EFCC complaints against "my" politicians tomorrow, I would actually thank you for holding them to account. Just because someone shares my ethnic origin doesn't mean I will ever allow them to steal from me, let alone jump to their defense afterwards. |

Fg in 2013 collected $1.1b from chinese government to build 4 new airports for Nigeria. Abuja, Lagos , Kano and P.H that's less 200b naira and someone is here telling the world that the same Fg award contract of renovating Enugu airport for 86b naira and some people have time to reply them. 1 Like |

Activa:u just pointed out to d way I like things handled. My stand if this report by sr is to be looked into, prosecute d corrupt ppl in d whole contract but dont suspend d contract (if corrections/improvements are to be made, no problem). I understood what d guy @new2020 is pointing at. That this is an indirect ploy to suspend d work ongoing at d airport. But he did not present it in a friendly manner. He cited d 2nd niger bridge as an example. Thanks anyway. |

waternogetenemy: What "emotions" are you talking about? Are you sure it isn't your emotions that need controlling? I suggest you take your own advice, detach emotionally from your defense of Stella Oduah, and think critically about just what it is you're doing - namely enabling the very corruption that has kept all parts of Nigeria backwards for so long. Enugu airport wouldn't be in the shameful state it is in if Oduah had been doing her job, yet here you are trying to shield her from responsibility, even though the main users of the airport would be Igbos like her and yourself. If wanting my politicians to be held accountable is getting "into bed with the devil", then I will happily jump into bed and stay there all day. Defending crooked politicians because they share one's tribe is the height of irrationality, but doing so when these crooks allow their greed to sabotage projects in our shared home region is a new level of insanity. I meant what I said about welcoming closer scrutiny of "my" politicians from all Nigerians (and even non-Nigerians), precisely because I understand that such scrutiny is essential to getting clean and responsive government. The last thing I want is for "my" politicians to feel safe ignoring my needs and enriching themselves instead with funds meant to better my life, safe in the knowledge that I will run to their defense anyway, as soon as they wheel out the tribe card. That's why I always laugh when I see the likes of @nonimi on their crusades against Tinubu, Fashola and co.: these trolls fail to realize that many of us would actually support them if they had good evidence to present against these politicians, and chose to do so either via the EFCC, the courts or, at the very least, by submitting it to journalists like Sahara Reporters or any of the national newspapers. |
