parrotibaba:Your thinking is flawed if you decide not to see the movie based off what 181 rotten tomatoes critics told you lol. The movie got MIXED reviews, how many positive reviews did it get from other critics on IMDB? http://www.imdb.com/title/tt2975590/?licb=0.28888278630538755 There have been movies with a much higher budget than BvS that didn't even make $1b (example: Man of steel). Read into that what you will but you're already biased the moment you start smashing the movie even before you seen it. Finally when you consider the overall package of movies, there is no one that delivers a 100% in all aspects aka The perfect movie. Many would argue with you that Snyder was good or other BvS actors played their roles perfectly. |

badinfluence:When you got nothing left to argue with you then proceed to beat around the bush again? Why would i be frustrated, because you and other marvel fanboys called BvS bad? Hahaha i thought the movie was great along with most of the others who went to see it and its also doing good in the box office ![]() Yep i covered every detail that your fanboy friend pointed out, if you have anything tangible to contribute to his argument and I'm interested, i could oblige you. Humanity is doomed? stop embarrassing yourself. ![]() |

Parrotibaba, how can we judge these RT scores and audience receptions for these movies? I won't argue much on reviews again, I guess the issue is over beaten. I will conclude by criticising the methodologies adopted for movie review, that is if there are any. It is no doubt laced with personal opinions, hence, the current outcry. The eventual box office financial output of BvS will determine whether this is a means to an end.

| Re: DC EXTENDED UNIVERSE (FILM) by TonySpike: 2:03pm On Mar 27, 2016 |
...and yeah, on metacritic, audience score for BvS is equally above 70%. This is the close to audience score on RT. Are members of the audience wrong?

Next2Bezee:*sigh... the bants of an obviously pained fanatic.. going through my posts I didn't bash the movie neither did I praise it. I have no time for fan boyism.. come to think of it, where did you even spring out from? The so called 'fanboy' raised some valid points and you jumped in to defend without getting proper ammo.. am I supposed to take you serious? Even if I'm unserious myself. I've seen fans who agree with the fact that the movie had loose plot points, an abysmal portrayal of lex and Superman's death was totally avoidable and pointless( let's face it we all know he would be back in the first 20 mins of JL... yawn) afflect is a good bruce Wayne. Your only point is 'BvS is making money' which we all know.. you think you're a dc fan? Get in line pal.. the fact that you think Jesse's 'wannabe heath ledger' lex is great, makes you a joke of a fan |

| Re: DC EXTENDED UNIVERSE (FILM) by TonySpike: 2:24pm On Mar 27, 2016 |
badinfluence:Hacked? I guess not, Bro. This is what we are talking about. There are obviously inconsistencies in movie reviews, if not, how did Sharknado get such a high RT score? I guess you now understand my point |
| Re: DC EXTENDED UNIVERSE (FILM) by Nobody: 2:29pm On Mar 27, 2016 |
TonySpike:Sharknado was reviewed by about 20 critics while BvS has been reviewed by about 200 so far. There's bound to be a huge difference in the ratings |
| Re: DC EXTENDED UNIVERSE (FILM) by badinfluence: 2:31pm On Mar 27, 2016 |
TonySpike:The head and tail is that you guys are taking this thing too serious.. I learn from both franchises.. Marvel and DC.. don't know about other people but I'm just having fun. But I watch movies and take notes to better myself.. stop the fanboy wars and let's sing together 'we shall overcome' ![]() |

| Re: DC EXTENDED UNIVERSE (FILM) by TonySpike: 2:58pm On Mar 27, 2016 |
SherlockWayne007:The number of reviewers shouldn't be an issue. I also do peer-reviews too and we are not usually more than four. The fact remains that Sharknado was rated 82%, other issues are irrelevant. |
| Re: DC EXTENDED UNIVERSE (FILM) by parrotibaba(m): 3:08pm On Mar 27, 2016*. Modified: 3:26pm On Mar 27, 2016 |
TonySpike:bro the audience isn't wrong neither are they right. The success of a movie doesn't depend on one side, you can't choose the side that favours you to justify that a movie is decent. You guys are forgetting that we are talking about Supes and batman here, two of DC comics poster superheroes, do you honestly think people won't be out in their droves to watch this movie? So many folks want to see their comic superheroes on TV and it's now a reality for them so why wouldn't they go see Supes fight batman?. BvS should make a billion dollars in the box office. Another thing is that this critics are doing their job, which is reviewing movies and right now majority of them are saying that BvS sucks, majority not all, so there's definitely something wrong somewhere because initially reviews were good before the international release and I remember you especially dropping the reviews on this thread but now that reviews are bad, you have turned your back on that, suddenly they are now biased. Is that now fair? Remember transformers age of extinction made over a billion in the box office but had negative reviews. |
| Re: DC EXTENDED UNIVERSE (FILM) by parrotibaba(m): 3:23pm On Mar 27, 2016 |
Next2Bezee:but I never said I won't see the movie because of the bad reviews, I'm just of the opinion that you can't overlook the bad reviews and focus on the box office simply because you are a die hard fan boy. Audience poll in cinemascore gave BvS a B grade which is average, metacritic scored the movie 44/100 based on 50 critics, the Guardian scored the movie 2.5/5. Now surely you can't tell me that all these critics are haters or are biased against the movie. Man of Steel's budget was $225m and bvs is over $250m. |
| Re: DC EXTENDED UNIVERSE (FILM) by Nobody: 3:26pm On Mar 27, 2016 |
TonySpike:The number of reviewers is quite important. The higher the reviews, the higher the number of critics who find flaws with a movie. That's why you see a movie which has 90% on its opening day dial down to 60-70% with time. And the case of BvS is very special in its own right because most if not all reviewers had high expectations going to view it. Reviewers of Sharknado on the otherhand, barely had any expection for it because it was seen as a joke right from the very beginning so it had room to fail which wasn't the case with BvS... i'M not saying the critics are right because iDon't even form my opinions of a movie based on critics |
| Re: DC EXTENDED UNIVERSE (FILM) by Minemrys(op): 3:43pm On Mar 27, 2016 |
Critics you have failed BvS. |
| Re: DC EXTENDED UNIVERSE (FILM) by cao(f): 3:52pm On Mar 27, 2016 |
superbloke:8/10 is way too nice. I was honestly really annoyed with the film, then the final fight happened & I kinda forgot 'cause I was stoked when WW appeared in her armour to fight - seriously, folks were clapping when WW appeared in that scene (Nigerians & their clapping antics). Just seen my cousin's review on Facebook, which reminded me of one of my pet peeves in the film - unnecessary slow motion. Did they really need the slow motion for Bruce visiting his parents' graves? The whole emphasis on Martha's name during the first act bugged me, I kept wondering, why are they hiding Thomas' name? Then it hit me...oh good old fashioned ham fisted foreshadowing...I should expect its use during a climactic moment...I might have rolled my eyes during said climactic moment. The dream sequence thing was a bit foolish, they have not established a possibility of an alternative/parallel universe in this particular universe (no hint in MoS whatsoever) & to now just drop it into this universe via a dream/vision just like that was a silly decision. Now, I know my AUs & whatnots because I enjoy my sci-fi & I've watched and played those things I mentioned in my earlier post, but what about the average Joe who's only watched MoS? **wonders out loud** I wonder what AngryJoe's review of this film will be like? He's a proper Superman fan. The black Superman shirt is practically part of his uniform... TonySpike:It's a 12A, it's also being released in 3D, IMAX 3D & 4DX, it's even being released in 70mm prints, it's not banned in China, I expect it to make money, they had a solid marketing campaign, I might have avoided most of the adverts, I think I only saw the Super Bowl ad & the one that showed at my viewing of London Has Fallen...but I digress. They've thrown everything and the kitchen sink into this. This film has to break even, so that's at least double its budget, with a budget of $250 million, it has to make at least $500 million...and we don't know if the budget includes the marketing costs. It all depends on word of mouth, if average Joes tell their friends that it sucked & those friends tell their friends & yada yada yada, no amount of flash will save it. This film can make $400 million easy, but the budget is big thing, it needs to make around $600 to $800 million. $1b is not going to happen, unless fanboys decide to camp at the cinema or someone decides to make a Faustian deal. It hinges on word of mouth. I can see it getting $600 million, if folks decide to watch it like a Michael Bay film. |

cao:God, cao i get it. U hate BvS and if i may say the Dceu but must you be this pessimistic? Gush This is s0me0ne's 3 year hardwork. I get u hate the film and its your opinion but God! You are over doing this. Many audience so far love the film and give it an 8 or 7 with all its flaws. Can't u find anything good in the m0vie? All these BvS trashing gets me frustrated on being a DC fan. Now am forced to go download the CAMRip versi0n seeing as there are no cinemas here, just to have my opinion. God, am tired of being in the dark. If this film fails in my eye, am d0ne with c0mic book films or better still i'll stick with the x men films except dpool and leave this mcu dcu shit. |

Minemrys:Dude, so now I apparently hate the DCEU in its entirety, calm down, so because the man spent 3 years working on it, we should applaud him for his work, regardless of quality of said work? I just had to explain the Flash & the dream scene to my cousin - how it was based on an AU & Flash warning Bruce about it. My cousin is a self confessed fanboy of MoS, he came straight from the airport to watch it with his brother & he's fuming about it - he walked out during the last 10 minutes. I have pointed out how I was entertained by the film, even though I was annoyed by it. And the more I kept chatting with him, I realised why I was annoyed, I was annoyed on behalf of the average Joe. |

Minemrys:I feel you bro. It seems it is now cool to hate on any DC movie handled by Snyder. I headed over to IMDB after the bashing reviews and saw a few good ones praising the movie....then scrolled down and saw an epic bashing all directed at BVS. First it was MOS and now this. I'm a DC fan but i think some parts of these reviews might be a bit right. Can't say much till i watch it myself. The only person whose opinion matters should be me and not some random dude on the internet. It will be fatal if the Justice League spinoff gets the kind of reception BVS is getting. So many folks base their opinion on reviews on the internet. |

cao:am n0t saying u should applaud anyb0dy, all am saying u should c0nsider the man's hardwork. Really, i feel a great pity for snyder. The man is just too hated. Did he kill any0ne? He's just trying to earn a living. Gosh, people. Am sure if it was n0lan, spielberg, fincher who presentd BvS every critic would be bowing. Snyder? Every critic's like what good could c0me fr0m snyder? Thats how i view their reviews. Seriously i pity the man. He seems like a genuine gentleman. |

Minemrys:Bro wait for the Hdrip at least, it'll be out in 2 weeks at most. You won't enjoy the CAMrip, remember it's all about the experience and I can assure you the best experience you will get is on the highest quality. The glory of the visuals and cgi will be lost on CAM so just wait. Forget all these people, there's no way the film will fail in your eye, just lower expectations and you'll enjoy it If this film was released 10 years ago, we'd all be praising it. The simple fact is expectations have increased, we expect more now. That's why it seems we're being harsh. I think it's a good thing. If we are satisfied with this then we'll get more of the same, they will only keep filling cbms with action and explosions. At least now they know some people aren't happy and the Justice League movie will be better for it. When AoU was released and it got criticized for going down the path of Transformers, they had to listen. I hope they learn the same lessons from BvS. |
| Re: DC EXTENDED UNIVERSE (FILM) by Minemrys(op): 6:48pm On Mar 27, 2016 |
cupidhero:seriously. Its the RT rating that's killing me. 29%? Where's thor 2, age of ultr0n? Amazing spidey 2? Ir0n man 2 and 3, superman returns, etc? 29%? |
| Re: DC EXTENDED UNIVERSE (FILM) by Minemrys(op): 6:52pm On Mar 27, 2016 |
moneyallowed:but tell me, 29%? Thats harsh cos if any m0vie below BvS' quality c0mes out and gets a higher rating, am going to start a blog and tear it down. Seriously. |
| Re: DC EXTENDED UNIVERSE (FILM) by Minemrys(op): 6:55pm On Mar 27, 2016 |
29 % in BvS, How many m0re ratings remain? How many will stay that way?

| Re: DC EXTENDED UNIVERSE (FILM) by cupidhero(m): 7:00pm On Mar 27, 2016 |
Minemrys:Rotten tomatoes ain't shiii to me. I wonder if they actually watch this movies before reviewing them. Disney and DC are two different brand...i don't know why these fanboy reviewers expect the same kind of movies from two different set of of movie makers. 29% is pure hate if thats what they gave BVS. |
| Re: DC EXTENDED UNIVERSE (FILM) by cupidhero(m): 7:04pm On Mar 27, 2016 |
Minemrys:Chill bro! Thats taking fanboyism to another level. Lol. BVS is a solid movie...i don't need to see it to know. DC goes hard! I don't care about people complaining of Batman killing thugs or Superman snapping zods neck. |
| Re: DC EXTENDED UNIVERSE (FILM) by moneyallowed(m): 7:11pm On Mar 27, 2016 |
Minemrys:It's harsh no doubt, but that's the danger with taking risks. Thor 2 & Amazing Spiderman 2 were stupid but they played it safe, they were silly but fun, popcorn stuff. So at least even if the reviewers didn't like the movie at least they felt their money wasn't totally wasted, so they gave it an average score BvS on the other hand tried to be deep, serious, philosophical and epic all at once and failed. It's harder to give a movie a move a positive score if you didn't enjoy yourself. Any comic book fan would have appreciated it but most of these critics hate comics, they're even getting tired of comic book movies and claiming superhero fatigue. Then a film like BvS comes along and they're like Aha! Told you Remember RT doesn't work by percentages, the 29% doesn't mean BvS is 29/100. It simply means 29% of the critics gave it a positive score. After all the grammar they write, RT forces critics to rate a movie positive or negative, that is fresh or rotten. So if 10 reviewers all rated BvS 2.5/5, 8 might give it rotten cos they didn't enjoy it, making it look like it's a very bad film. If you want a more accurate score always look at the critics aggregate score. BvS is currently on 5.3 over 10. That's more objective. That's about the same rating as Thor 2 and Iron man 2.The RT % is just to give an idea to anyone who hasn't seen the movie the probability that they might enjoy it |
| Re: DC EXTENDED UNIVERSE (FILM) by TonySpike: 7:25pm On Mar 27, 2016 |
moneyallowed:I tell ya, there was a bandwagon effect. So many websites fell over each other to give BvS the 'most' bad review after initial reviews on Tuesday. It was as if they were waiting to see those initial bad reviews so that they can write theirs. You know, that was what made it looked as if it was a tacit agreement. I wish WB adopted the Star Wars: TFA (Disney) method of conditional reviewing, perhaps the proliferation of bad reviews would have reduced. |
