It's gonna be 4-1-3-2 formation because we need to protect our backline when we attack. Egypt is going to come out from their shell and that will make the game 50-50 and interesting. Lets pray for Super Eagles for luck.

I still predict 3-2 for Nigeria. The Pharoahs are beatable in their own country.

I am not a prophet of doom but I can't bet on this match.

i beg just leave the match alone like dat, you know african football is so straight forward dat team hardly loose at home,so you take maximum points at home and hope 4 d best away, its been long i bet, but i did last week, picking some home teams to win, some to win/draw only guinea spoilt the show, but they nearly made it,almost 8 minutes of extra time was added just for guinea to score but to no avail....very hard to bet against home teams in africa, especially north africans.

sorry to announce to you that the No 1 choice goalkeeper,Carl ikeme will not be available due to stomach upset which denied him of training.

Therefore,he needs some rest.

Another disappointing or Breaking news is that Chad had withdrawn from the group which makes the teams three and according to CAF rules, once a team pulls out and left with three, only one team qualifies.Presently,Eqypt is leading the Group. In such case,we need to beat Eqypt at all cause and more goals.

Predicted Formation For Nigeria To Beat Egypt In Alexandria

We had an entertaining game and we noted a lot of positive things in that game. Most especially the impressive performances of our youngsters against a top African stars.

Iwobi got his first Super Eagles cap in a competitive game and his pass to Victor Moses showed why the English FA made a last-minute effort to lure the young Arsenal forward to the English side.

Iheanacho showed why he is Manchester City's Best Impact player and Most Lethal Shot Taker with his low power-driven shot saved by the Egyptian goal keeper. Etebo converted an Iheanacho shot that rattled the cross-bar. Iheanacho also showed his versatility when he dropped deep on many occasions to increase the team's fluidity and possession.

Simon Moses was brilliant all through the match and he helped to cover Amuzie when he was off position with Salah exposed. Musa was also brilliant with his perpetrating runs and brilliant shots.

Carl Ikeme's saves helped calm the pain of losing the safe hands of Enyeama. Mikel had a nice game but lost possession on some occasions. Etebo put in good work rate, got the goal and helped distract a Moroccan striker who almost scored after our defence went to sleep during the first half.

Good game collectively but we head to Alexandria, Egypt for a must win tie. I expect the Coaching crew of Coach Siasia and Coach Amunike must have enough knowledge on their players and opponent to give us a win.

I propose we go with a 4-3-3 formation. An attacking line up with three forwards.

----------------------------------Carl Ikeme(GK)----------------------------------------
---------------------Ambrose(CB)----------------Oboabona(CB)------------------
Abdullahi(RB)-----------------------------------------------------------Amuzie(LB)
----------------------Mikel(DMF)-------------------Onazi(DMF)----------------------
--------------------------------------Iwobi(CMF/AMF)--------------------------------
V. Moses(SS)-----------------------------------------------------------S. Moses(SS)
-------------------------------------Iheanacho(CF)------------------------------------------

I feel Odion Ighalo did not bring in invention to his game and limited the team's fluid play. His style of staying close to the defenders all the time will not help the team in Alexandria. At Kaduna, the Egyptian defenders showed they could cope with Ighalo and I feel persisting with him up front will not help our goals.

Iwobi played for Arsenal against Barcelona and did well. He was one of the few bright players in a losing Arsenal side and I feel he can help the team with his brilliant passes. I feel we have found someone who can take the pass master crown from Mikel. Although Mikel brings a lot to the team with his short passes which is key to the team's success.

Onazi should cut his forward runs and let the attacking players do their jobs. Same caution goes to Ambrose. His forward runs were reckless and he put his team mates under a lot of pressure.

I still think Amuzie can cope with Salah if Onazi maintains his position and doubles up with him to stop Salah.

FLY SUPER EAGLES FLY.

You no read am for news say Belle dey pain Carl Ikeme...he's not been training with the team...Dude is out

I will back ighalo to score over kelechi in egypt, why because at this moment he is d better striker

that will thrash Egypt

.................................... C.Ikeme

Shehu. ........Oboabona ......Ambrose........Amuzie

....................................Mikel

V. Moses.............A. Musa .............S.Moses

and Siasia should stop blaming the defenders for conceding that goal he should have shored up his defence towards the end planned his sub's better Aminu for iheanacho was unnecessary it should have been Moses for iheanacho then you can cap Iwobi and still have one sub to use Azubuike okechukwu or orji or echejile should have come in to kill time and shore the back. I don't know if he was even watching the opponents they brought in One midfielder and 2 strikers and not all like for like sub's and ur busy bringing in forwards
he better learn Oboabona and Ambrose were not in the u23 tournament and the same thing happened then in the group stage twice

there's no way Nigeria would beat Egypt without Iheanacho
Re: Predicted Formation For Nigeria To Beat Egypt In Alexandria by opribo(m): 8:30am On Mar 28, 2016
No formation can form a team that is nor properly blended. I am not a pessimist but I am a realist. I have watched the present super eagles play and I can tell you for free we still have some players in the there who see themselves as lords.
The way they run after the ball, the time they take to get up from the ground when they fall, the way they retract when an opponent beats them with the ball and many others make me conclude that our players don't play as though their is a price target rather they play like leisurely as if in a friendly match.

Maybe some them feel already that they are super stars therefore whenever they step out on the pitch all eyes on them.
But when I remember the likes of Lionel Messi , Rinaldo and others I noticed that when they are on the pitch they play as if they are still struggling to make it, they dont play the big man football.

The bane of our football are those so called big boys
We need time to groom new crop of young footballers just as Westerhoff did that produced the best team ever in Nigeria the Okocha / KANU era.
Since then every other coach has been building on whatever is left of that team.

My fucking country Nigeria that cannot boast of a good playing pitch. My question is when will Nigeria ever boast of having a good pitch that can be compared to the ones in south Africa? I am not talking about Europe now. Small African countries like Tanzania, Gabon, Kenya, Mauritania etc have very good turfs/pitches but Nigeria's own is always an eyesore. The question is, is it that nobody is seeing it or we don't know.Bad pitches tend to hinder good play of football.I am a footballer and I know what I am talking about.Mark my word Nigeria is to play better in Alexendria Egypt because of the good pitch there. But we still must pray mother luck is on their side.

Ur points are valid I think Ighalo should sit down for this match I think we need a different type of forward one that can take the ball to the defenders and can stand on there shoulders and beat them with pace going by there high punts or wetin i fit call am upfield from the mildfielders and at some point if we get an early goal we can easily switch to a counter attacking formation with Iwobi moses moses and Musa
Iwobi seems better in giving the final pass than iheanacho.
iheanacho has become too goal hungry he has forgotten who he is
etebo needs to start, don't be deceived Egypt will still park the bus in their home and want to hit us on the counter
onazi will be a good sub if we take the lead to stabilize the team.

This is a match in which Isaac Success would have been useful more than Ighalo, Success is a warrior who will battle defenders allowing somebody else to do the scoring, thats not Ighalo's style of play.
Lots of our players in the team are not yet settled in the team, still self-discovering hence lack of confidence which i believe is the reason the likes of Onazi and Ambrose try to compensate for but little success.
which look out for the Olympics because NFF bungled the whole thing from after the world Cup with their myopia while fighting for positions, we are still suffering from late and inappropriate appointment of coaches, not the coaches faults but NFF's

[b]They should just stop their overhead passes[\b]. The ball should be played on the ground not in the air; we don't have good free kick and corner kick players.
Eagles are known for short level passes not long overhead volley.
all I'm saying....Ighalo's biggest problem was trying to reach for aerial balls against a taller Egyptian side.

Got to watch Brazil v. Uruguay last night and I can say that only one scoring chance came from an aerial ball the entire 90 minutes from both sides and it didn't go in.

Play the ball on the ground, using aerial balls is a lazy style of play, we need penetrating passes into the 18-yard box and if I remember clearly against Egypt, only Iwobi gave a penetrating pass to V.Moses, then Iheanacho's low shots were also penetrating. Anybody wey no sabi play ball for ground, make e no dey front 3.

Iwobi....Ighalo/Iheanacho....V.Moses should start in front 3. I no wan see that okada wey no get direction in the first 45 minutes

. I feel we need someone who can contribute more defensively to the team than Etebo, if we re to deal with Salah's pace.

So I will still pick Onazi over Etebo or I will pick Azubuike.

U dropped a player firing from all cylinders base on a preconceived perception of Onazi or base on current form? Ikeme is even ruled out of d showdown in Alexandria. Ur lineup cannot do d job for Nigeria. Echiejile has to return to no 3 otherwise Sallah may not be that unlucky to go pass Abuzie. Onazi must not start. Etebo is better at least base on current form not antecedent.
My humble opinion

The same cannot be said of U.J Esuene stadium calabar. Go and see natural beauty . so evergreen and fresh natural turf. Clement weather and serene environment for gud soccer. Nigeria played badly and lost last time there and they started blaming d stadium that it did not wish them well. Only a bad workman quarrels with his tools.

Ighalo was fantastic. He did his job by ensuring that d Egyptian defenders never joined d attack. He kept them back and took pressure off d midfield. There were always 3 defenders on him as he stationed himself in their 18. We must not miss that. I agree with ur other submissions but I still think that Ighalo shud start.
