By creating custom plugin or component for it; it doesnt make any sense developing a school portal in wordpress or even Joomla.
You will be doing yourself a great favor coding it with a framework or raw php (its just a suggestion)

There are themes for that. Google LMS plugin for WordPress

So WordPress is that bad?

Why is wordpress insecure? Is it the language used to code it or WordPress structure itself that's the problem? Just curious.

WordPress plugin are coded by people who just want to cash out , and don't care about security.
