Even if your jamb score was 400 and your SSCE was 9 A1s, you'd never be offered admisson into ALL the fedral universities in Nigeria, maybe in the ones within your Geo Political Zone/catchment area, but never in ALL. That's the point.

Ivy league schools have endowment fund that's pays for people from families who can't afford it and earn below 100 thousand dollars.Once you get accepted into an Ivy league school,money is never the problem.The issue is getting in.

I'm sorry but are you in an ivy league school? I happen to know for a fact that there is a quota system and not everyone qualifies for the funds you mentioned.

The Yorubas are going to come up with one achievement of their own because of this news. That's fair, but we will not accept it if it's source is Punch or Sahara Reports or any Nigerian blog! We don't want another fake prof. solving 200 years old mathematics problem.

We can't just argue based on the above submission..

The above girl is extremely bright and would have probably crushed her exams here in Nigeria, so that no university in Nigeria would turn her down. Yes, there is a quota system, but it doesn't concern people whose performances are ranked in the outstanding category..This girl is outstandingly outstanding, irrespective of her roots or village, and would have gained admission into ABU Zaria, IFE or UNILAG or IBADAN.

There are two Igbo Nigerian kids who back to back got offered places in all 8 Ivy league schools. One was born in Nigeria while the other was born "here" in US.
I hope it has finally added up.

Yes two years in a row now, I graduated from same High school years back and they are putting the school and town on the map. well racist whites are not happy about this news lol who cares, there was another kid out west last named Ajisafe who got into all ivy league schools last year and another 15 year old girl who hasn't even completed high school yet, years back got into all Ivy leagues coupled with other high prestigious schools as well.....hoping we get another on next year and the year after that cheesy

What a ridiculous piece of tribalistic puffery! Why do so many of you feel compelled to indulge in such grandiose rhetoric? Do you really believe such tripe?

For your information, there are many, many people of Yoruba, Edo, Efik, Ijaw, Nupe and other non-Igbo backgrounds who can boast of similar feats, going back at least 3 decades now. I know because I was actually 1 of 3 in a single year at my own Ivy League university, and had friends of such origins at several of the other Ivy League colleges at the same time. This student certainly deserves to be recognized, but what she's achieved is neither new, nor particular to Igbos in any way, and making claims about how one individual's deeds show some imaginary special qualities for Igbos only makes you look like a deranged tribalist.

even in science Harvard is blazing the trail. Bill Gates is a Harvard computer science dropout, Mark Zuckerberg is a Harvard computer science dropout. Harvard Medical school (HMS) is d 2nd best in the world after Johns Hopkins medical skool. The business and economics school you are even talking about is even an affiliate to Harvard.
