Good day ceejay80s, I just bought a 75amh battery (fairly used) but the battery does not last more than 1hr 30min if fully Charged. Though I'm still testing it. I use 32" TV AC 110-240V, 50/60Hz with a gotv decoder.
* I reduced the brightness and the contrast of the tv while watching.

that's a nice one bro. But u never tell us the capacity and cost of the battery u bought with dis set up. Hope dis ur suplier sells bateries too.
these are my set up.. 1500w inverter =8k
30amps smart charger =9k. i bought them from the mushin olosha bustop man. 08033153072
i bought my 200amps battery brand new from onitsha 70k.
so my total set up is 87k. u can also buy a fairly used 200amps battery from oshodi or from this guy in alaba 08034411042. a fairly used 200amps battery from the alaba guy is about 35k. he claims its with guarantee.

mono is better as explained by my contact in alaba. i just closed eye wink and bought one today. its a 200watts monocrystalline solar panel sold for 35k. i will try and buy another one to make it 2pcs soon. pls is it wise to use it solar panel on inverter and battery without charge controller?

Don't try that. A solar panel has a very wide voltage range. A charge controller helps narrow it down so you don't damage your battery. You also have to be careful when installing. Get a professional to do it for you to forestall any risk of electrocution.

your battery does not look like a deep cycle battery. but u i think with your load 2hrs runtime is fair.

I've heard MMPT controllers are better. I have not used anyone before though

Mono is not really the best. For more details read here

You will need a good charge controller. Get MPPT as against PWM they are more efficient.

thanks, i intend use only two 200watts solar panel and 2 200amps batteries in the long run, so like how many amps mppt controller should i get?

Ur battery is 61ah and its not brand new , I don't know the condition of that battery and another thing is the watts of ur lcd TV, try and power with the decoder alone or some thing else

anybody in the house with a voltmeter, please do me a favor.

When fully charged, what is the voltage reading of your battery?

Pleasure include the brand, capacity and age of your battery.

Thanks.

Salute to everyone here..oga Ceejay... I doff my hat chief! Been following this thread for months or so but never got round to setting up due to one ex use or the other but now, I think I'm ready with the fuel and NEPA wahala. I have a few questions one of which is this:

Concerning the 20A or 30A charger, how do you guys charge when I've also read that they need very powerful generators like 3.5kva? We have very VERYYYY poor NEPA power in my area so heavily rely on gen but if my regular big size 2.5kva can't power the 20A charger how do I now get to charge the batteries. Please advice. Thanks
Re: How To Create A Locally Made Inverter With Ease by Youngzedd(m): 6:58pm On Apr 06, 2016
ceejay80s:
Most important:
(1).do not overload
(2).Switch off what u don't need
(3).don't allow the battery to die while in use, when ur ups beeps faster or ur inverter start beeping, reduce the load or turn off ur ups or inverter

When I see people complaining about their brand new inverter and brand new battery not lasting up to 3month after purchase or 200ah battery not lasting up to 12hrs, I go just dey laff,
Just read
all ur inverter problems thread on nairaland,
Sometimes the fault is from the users and sometimes from the sellers,
The 1st two batteries I bought for my setup is more than a year old and I am still using them and they are working fine.
Take very good care of ur setup
To me I prefer a 12v setup to the 24v setup
E.g if u have 12v inverter and (2) 200ah batteries connected in parallel will give u 12v 400ah and more watch time.
But..
A 24v inverter and (2) 200ah battery connected in series will give u a lesser watch time than the 12v (2) 200ah battery,

Our next phase will be SOLAR power, getting and installing a solar won't be hard ,u won't be spending more money because u have already gotten some of the items already like batteries, ups/inverted.
So u need to add just 2 more item to ur setup and u have a solar power, (solar panel & charge controller)

Why is this so?
Kindly explain. Aaah I bought 1.5kva luminous inverter last week, yet to buy the battery which will cost more than 140k.

yes ooo, imagine how much a good pure sine wave inverter cost and the battery to carry it

I bought 1.5kva 46k from distributor last week. 1.5kva needs 2 200ah costing about 71k each.

No be here Ooo

after serious permutations and research, i decided to go for a brand new 200amps battery made in india(with 6 months guarantee from the seller) he specifically adviced me against going for any cheaper made in china battery like mercury and the rest. i have to cough out 70k.. for those that want mercury 200amps battery, its 59k in the market.

Is that Luminous?

not luminous, but very good made in india battery, according to my supplier. i bought it 70k(transport inclusive). i just purchased a 200amps mono solar panel and charge controller, i intend to buy the 2nd another solar panel and another 200amps battery soon. with that i will be okay for awhile.

I use a 2.5kva generator and It powers my 30A smart charger. The light will just blink when you power it. The generator doesn't change sound.
