Doctors in the house please I need advice! My 13 years old ward is having pains while urinating and dripping blood after the urine. I took him to the hospital on Monday and they did lab, gave us some drugs. Up till now no improvement and they ask us to come back tomorrow. Pls what can be the cause of this? And what else do i need to do?

The prescriptions given to us are ; cap, Amoxycilin 500mg, Tab flagil 400mg, tab pcm, tab vit Bro, tab fesolate, folic acid, i will try to post the lab result tomorrow if they will give it to me. Cc; Lagusta and other sabi doctors in the house.

Please take him to a university teaching hospital or good private hospital. Ask these questions there. All we can do is speculate ideas which may turn out wrong.

Their pharmacy is not having it. We are told to go and get it. I pray it cures him.

they just wrote it on a piece of paper and gave to us. I've not seen it to buy. Although a phamasist promise to help us get it. No he does not swim at all. The correct name of the drug is Ambilhar and its a Niridazole. I hope I got the answer to ur question@ Lagusta.

Why not give praziquantel instead......

Anyway it's the doctor's choice.....

I'm sure he followed what the urine microscopy said; finding schistosoma hematobium eggs.....

Bit he will be fine, not to worry.....
