The governor of Imo State, Owelle Rochas Okorocha has
express his anger over comments credited to an ex-
governor of the state, Chief Ikedi Ohakim, where he was
quoted as saying that Okorocha has destroyed the state.
Okorocha described the criticism as unfortunate, stating
that Ohakim has no moral right to make any statement in
respect of his administration, as he lacked the will-power
to lead the state, when he had the opportunity.

In a statement signed by the chief press secretary to the
governor, Sam Onwuemeodo, Okorocha, pointed out that
in the four years of Ohakim’s governance, Imo was an
embodiment of misrule and impunity was the order of
the day.

The statement reads, “The Imo State governor, Owelle
Rochas Okorocha and indeed, the Rescue Mission
Government in the state had read the banner headline of
the Daily Sun of Tuesday, April 5, 2016, captioned,
‘Ohakim bombs Governor Okorocha … You’ve Destroyed
Imo State’.

“The former governor of the state had spoken in an
interview he granted the Daily Sun correspondent in
Owerri.
“We had taken time also to go through the whole story
to see whether the former governor had told his
audience how Governor Okorocha destroyed Imo State,
but we didn’t find any claim or allusion close to that.
“He only talked about the governor planning to install
another Orlu man governor in 2019 and the governor
sacking the Secretary to the Government of Imo State
(SSG), and all that he claimed he had left behind in the
Government House Owerri.”

Is she aware that not only IMSU on strike, IMSUTH is in coma, not admitting fresh Medical students, as Okorocha opened his private quasi hospitals in the name of Oshiedike and other diagnostic centres in Owerri?

Does she know that organized sports have not been talking place for the youths outside the state capital, as Okorocha dismantled Orlu stadium, the only stadium in Imo state outside the state capital?

Does she know that outside the state capital, people may soon start to develop lung disease from breathing dust for four years running from roads scrapped and abandoned by Okorocha contractors?

Does she know that paying Imo civil servants their monthly salaries is now regarded as a gift by Okorocha government, as many of the civil servants have not been paid, some as long as four months?

Okorocha, since he joined APC, sees Imo state as only Owerri, same way you see only Owerri as Imo state.
