Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala lied repeatedly until a lot of people believed it.

The Governors did not force her to spend the ECA funds. Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala already spent $2 billion dollars from it.

I expected Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala to take responsibility. Instead, she heaped the blame on the Governors. Thus, lying to the people she served and trying to deceive them.

It is time we faced the truth, understand the situation of things and give the government time to fix it.

Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala lied, withdrew funds from the ECA and broke the trust of the Governors.

The truth will free the shackles on the mind of the people and make them reasonable.

As long as the article or thread exposes lies and educates the public with the truth, it is relevant. Education can not be wrong.

Okonjo-Iweala’s stint with Jonathan’s administration was her second time round serving in government. Former president Obasanjo convinced her to leave the World Bank in 2003 to become minister of finance. When Jonathan asked her to join his cabinet she agreed to do so only on the condition she was given more control of the economy than under Obasanjo.

Op you dont seem to be stable on a point of arguement, you started by arguing curruption and at another you seem to be arguing on illegality, the fact that money was illegaly withdrawn from an account for a particular documented purpose does not make it currupt, rather what should be questioned is the right to appropriate that fund without proper approval and due process cos as far as i can see the fund was not expended on personal use, and if that be the case your arguement on curruption does not stand, pls get your arguement right.

With this educational piece, few will write that Madam Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala would have saved if not the Governors.

In the midst of the dispute between the NPHCDA and GAVI, the Nigerian government, led by Ms. Okonjo-Iweala still went ahead to refund the alleged misused funds of US$2.2 million to the organization.
On August 11, the EFCC responded to CSNAC’s petition over the alleged mismanagement of the GAVI funds stating that no prima facie case of fraud, diversion of funds, or other crimes had been established in relation to the project.
“Our investigation confirmed that the National Primary Health Care Development Agency (NPHCDA) paid all due taxes to the Federal Inland Revenue Service. The NPHCDA also paid required funds to UNICEF in 2012 for meningitis vaccine campaign (MENAFRIVAC),” the EFCC said in its response signed by Olaolu Adegbite, on behalf of the Executive Chairman.
“All contracts under the project were duly executed while the provisions of the Nigerian financial regulations for the public service were duly followed in the disbursement of duty tour allowances and other incidental expenses for the staff.”
The anti-graft agency stated that the findings of GAVI’s initial audit report was based on an unfounded suspicion of fraud and called for the ongoing reconciliation between the organisation and the NPHCDA to be concluded.
“We believe that the GAVI report underscores the effect of negative media coverage of events on our national reputation,” the EFCC stated.
“It is unfortunate that some reputable foreign organizations continue to perceive most Nigerians as corrupt and fraudulent in spite of contrary evidence.”
But despite the EFCC report, GAVI stuck to its claims. Mrs. Okonjo-Iweala believed the donor agency despite protests by a government she served.
She brushed aside the concerns and proceeded to refund $2.2million to the organisation, even without clearance from the health ministry.
Few months later, GAVI named her the chairperson of its board.

Emefiele has said he won't resign so they have to go back to NOI. When GEJ removed the subsidy, they said he didn't put any measures to cushion the stress that comes with it. For that reason they occupied Ojota. Today I ask: did buhari put up any measure to cushion their suffering now? With new thing has buhari done that GEJ did not do in the petroleum sector?
