coolscott: The question is, why is it that we could not save during the windfall. I expected Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala to take responsibility. Instead, she heaped the blame on the Governors. Thus, lying to the people she served and trying to deceive them. It is time we face the truth, understand the situation of things and give the government time to fix it. Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala lied, withdrew funds from the ECA and broke the trust of the Governors. The truth will free the shackles on the minds of the people and make them reasonable. As long as the article or thread exposes lies and educates the public with the truth, it is relevant. Education can not be wrong. |

TheGoodJoe:I have to confess I did not read the article because of my belief about its purpose/usefulness to us as a people. But to bring some pragmatism to the table, let us agree she was (and in all likelihood still is) bad. Can you please crucify (i.e. punish) her to the best of your satisfaction and when you are through with it, can we then go on with our country? |

TheGoodJoe, I am very pleased with your persuasion, you've done great defending the homeland against the shame and lies paraded by NOI. It has been said before, worth repeating here that, Jonathan was an incompetent leader....a buffoon! His incompetense as a leader, was a bad combination for people with natural leanings for crime. Under Jonathan people got away doing crimes they would not dare attempt under Murtala, Obasanjo or Buhari. This is not NOI's first stint as Minister. She served under Obasanjo, who was a no nonsense leader. Obasanjo brought her under him to coach and develop her for future leadership roles in Nigerian politics. Why Finance Ministry? Finance Ministry is a staging point for earning credibility and power because the Ministry is dotted-line with revenue, economy, budget, planning, national resource and of course legislature and its sub committees, as well with the 36 states and their respective LGs. She bungled the opportunity. Rather than fire her he moved her to Foreign Affairs hoping to get her credibility on the International stage...she bungled that as well. She came back as a second timer under Jonathan and still was incompetent and had not learnt the benefits of building and maintaining relationships with institutions that are critical to her success domestically. She battled State Governors and always in confrontation with them, battled CBN Governor, battled with Legislators. When asked why the Abacha loot was converted for arms deal and with no oversight she passed responsibility to her irresponsible boss. When asked why the. ECA was empty she passed blame on State Governors. When told that the money she requested from CBN was not appropriated she said go ask Jonathan. On why ECA was inefficient she said thats why SWF was created...to act as safety net against the inefficiencies in ECA. When reminded SWF is unable to self fund and needed FG subsidy to compete in bond market she said because the Governors depleted the fund meant for SWF. Everyone else is to blame for why she is unfit for her role. What a overhyped, overpaid, overbloated hippotamus she is!! read the summary below to see how this puffpuff maintain her sense of importance and entitlement.. Okonjo-Iweala’s stint with Jonathan’s administration was her second time round serving in government. Former president Obasanjo convinced her to leave the World Bank in 2003 to become minister of finance. When Jonathan asked her to join his cabinet she agreed to do so only on the condition she was given more control of the economy than under Obasanjo. |

Op you dont seem to be stable on a point of arguement, you started by arguing curruption and at another you seem to be arguing on illegality, the fact that money was illegaly withdrawn from an account for a particular documented purpose does not make it currupt, rather what should be questioned is the right to appropriate that fund without proper approval and due process cos as far as i can see the fund was not expended on personal use, and if that be the case your arguement on curruption does not stand, pls get your arguement right. |
| Re: Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala, An Epic FAILURE! End Of Story - kalokalo by shanktang(m): 4:50am On Apr 08, 2016 |
You can technically argue on missmanagement of fund but not on curruption as that does not stand in view of justifiable purpose in this case. |

coolscott: Which one is go on with the country? How can we go on if we do not learn from our mistakes? All your are saying is to protect the woman and not the truth. This is not about battering Madam Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala. It is about exposing the lies and burying the lies. With this educational piece, few will write that Madam Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala would have saved if not the Governors. This is about saving a battered truth. |

shanktang: Why do you think we have channels to appropriate funds? It is to checkmate corrupt use of the money. I do not know how Illegal transfer of funds is not corrupt. That is another debate. The point here is, Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala, should stop her lies. The Governors did not stop her from saving because she illegally withdrew $2 billion dollars from the ECA funds. |

NOI advocated for GAVI against interest of her own country and the Government she served. To reward her loyalty, GAVI named her the chairperson of its board few weeks after change of Administration. NOI served foreign interests, her actions and policies both at World Bank and GAVI were to the detriment of her fellow Nigerian citizens. She is friend of foreing invaders who want to keep us tethered to a regimen of economic slavery. She ought to be banned from ever serving in any government in Nigeria. In the midst of the dispute between the NPHCDA and GAVI, the Nigerian government, led by Ms. Okonjo-Iweala still went ahead to refund the alleged misused funds of US$2.2 million to the organization. |

Pidggin:When suffering becomes too much, somebody must be blamed. For forex, it was Emefiele, for petrol scarcity- blame the minister of state. Emefiele has said he won't resign so they have to go back to NOI. When GEJ removed the subsidy, they said he didn't put any measures to cushion the stress that comes with it. For that reason they occupied Ojota. Today I ask: did buhari put up any measure to cushion their suffering now? With new thing has buhari done that GEJ did not do in the petroleum sector? Why have they not gone out to protest? Hypocrites everywhere. He started this thread to lampoon NOI because of the hatred he and his ilk still has for her. If you don't know let me tell you why GEJ had to order her to pay for subsidy from the ECA. Where else were they suppose to source the money for subsidy without the altering the budget for the year if not from the excess crude account? Was the money from the account used for anything else? The hate filled opposition then through Amaechi had to insist on sharing the whole money even when their allocations were very high. The state of Osun even had to go and borrow thinking the money would always be there. Why did NOI warn then if she was incompetent? Hate will not allow some people reason properly. The same subsidy removal you partied against is what has been done now. Hypocrites everywhere. |
| Re: Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala, An Epic FAILURE! End Of Story - kalokalo by TheGoodJoe(op): 2:14pm On Apr 09, 2016 |
Yujin:You are just confusing yourself. This is not about hating Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala but saying the truth. Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala decided to save some of our Excess Crude Oil Revenue and told the Governors and the State Governors to support it. Money from the funds left the account. When the Governors and Lawmakers asked her what happened to the money, she said she used it for Subsidy. Note, she was suppose to alert the owners of the money before she took it. Just as President Buhari announced he was going to bail out four states. He did that before he took the money. The ECA was for saving, not for Subsidy. Why not make it public and alert the owners of the money. She then lied that she got endorsement from the Federal Commissioners of the FAAC. (More break of trust, no mention of GEJ) The Federal Commissioners denied her and exposed her lies and then she said it was GEJ that told her to take the money. Forget ethnicity and bigotry and face the truth. Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala's actions broke the trust and that was why the Governors collected their money. |

This is like telling a doctor, there is no need to ask for the history of a client, just treat the sickness. KALOKALO, Your piece is nothing but arant nonsense! And unfortunately, you are suffering from a chronic theoretical myopia assylum. The same kind of terrible State Governors who collaborated with some vampire politicians to suck and drain the national treasury into their corrupt purses, this same set of people who FRUSTRATED EVERY GOOD INTENTION of the finance Minister have paid you- KALOKALO (The Senseless One) to confuse people with this write-up. You people are ingrates. Dr Iweala with all sense of confidence is still the best Finance Minister so far in Nigeria! God bless Dr Iweala! God bless Nigeria!!! |

KALOKALO (The Senseless One), It is obvious you are a Stark and Stunch Unrepentant Illiterate. This includes ALL YOUR SHEEPISH GULLIBLE FOLLOWERS. You simply made an extremely cosmetic argument here- based on what you read in the Nigerian News Papers. You have been fooled! This is because of the fact that you are an ignorantium! Now hear YOURSELF: "there was no record of a Supreme Court judgement that ordered the sharing of the funds."- 1. Were you at the court Sitting WHEN THE JUDGEMENT WAS PASSED NO!!! You are the EPIC FAILURE!!! 2. Have you approached the Court Of Law that heard the matter to give you the judgement passed and the Court Refused NO! YOU ARE THE ORIGINAL COLLOSAL FAILURE & THE slowpoke HERE!!!3. Has ANY STATE GOVERNOR DENIED THAT THEY PARTOOK IN THE MONEY SHARING NO!!! Kalokalo, it is obvius YOU ARE THE EPIC FAILURE !!! You are an ardent WEED SMOKER and a confused confusionist!!! Your Write-up portrays you as such, nothing less!!!God bless Dr Okonjo Iweala.... Nigeria needs this woman! |

KALOKALO (The Frustrated Glutton), Your figures are not correct. You have fed the gullible innocent Nigerians with DUNG!!! Where did you get the purported 52% and your 0.72% from BLOODY LIAR!!! Untrue Facts!!! Undiluted and Undisputed Facts reveal that, under the watch of Dr Iweala, NO ILLEGAL EXPENDITURE EVER WAS MADE! NONE!!! This alone is a golden feather to Iweala. You people should stop being fed with all manners of information dungs. |

Sometimes Nigerians are quick to judge and they forget the good things some of our leaders have done based on evil rumors. Dr Okonjo Iweala did her best for this country, being the finance minister was her job and she did it better than most people who are judging her did her job. Contrary to this post headline, Okonjo Iweala is not an epic failure but a heroine who will always be remembered for her excellent achievements. |
| Re: Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala, An Epic FAILURE! End Of Story - kalokalo by NinaOlusoga12: 3:08pm On Apr 12, 2016 |
@coolscott, you seem to just want to believe that Okonjo Iweala lied. It is possible some leaders betrayed the trust of the people but not Okonjo Iweala. She was one leader that was honest and transparent in her dealings, she spoke with the press several times to inform us about situations in the country, she acknowledged funds coming into the country's finance and also states what they are used for and who approved it. Really she was honest from the very beginning, so I don't understand why you decided to use the word 'lie' but Dr Okonjo Iweala never did such a thing. |
| Re: Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala, An Epic FAILURE! End Of Story - kalokalo by NinaOlusoga12: 3:15pm On Apr 12, 2016 |
@Rowland, I agree with you, Nigerians can be gullible at times, someone just comes up with an article with unrelated figures and Nigerians do not bother to verify or cross check, they just begin to condemn and attack. Let's try to exercise patience and have faith in our leaders. Okonjo Iweala was never involved in any form of illegal transaction. |
| Re: Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala, An Epic FAILURE! End Of Story - kalokalo by NinaOlusoga12: 3:23pm On Apr 12, 2016 |
@The Good Joe, before you start to expose lies you need to be able to differentiate the lie from the truth, you also need to know things said out of hate and those said out of objectiveness. That is the only way you can thrive as the seeker of truth. When someone like Okonjo Iweala is saying the truth yet you are insisting it's a lie and you want to expose it, how do you intend to do that? Please try and get your fact right taht Dr Okonjo Iweala is an extremely honest and disciplined woman and from there you can continue your quest. Thank you. |
