The Senate of the University of Lagos in a circular posted to various notice boards yesterday morning, gave students till 10am to vacate their halls of residence “in order to avoid further breakdown of law and order”.

Students of the institution had on Wednesday 7 April, 2016, embarked on a protest to register their displeasure over poor living conditions occasioned by inadequate power and water supply.

Following the expiration of the deadline, the hostel and school gates were locked with students still in the premises.

In a move reminiscent of Hollywood action movies, the students, both male and female alike resorted to flying over the gate.

Students are crossing the canal at the back gate in order to leave the premises. Terribly unhygienic, not to mention risky.

I can't see any student "flying" over the fence, but i saw people scaling the fence.

Our education sector is in total shambles. Students pay for quality education only to be given an inconducive environment of learning in return.

Yet, our leaders of today will call the younger generations as the "leaders of tomorrow" when it is so obvious that the "leaders of today" will still be the "leaders of tomorrow". What a country!

Satanic Management everywhere, but the students could have broken the padlock or whatever was used in locking the gate rather than scaling the gate.

First time a Nigerian university was shut down due to NEPA and lack of petrol.

Bubu continues to win wrong awards. Meanwhile GEJ won two awards today.

Tragic.. A whole Unilag! Gadmit! The University system is messed up. From the VC to the students themselves. Imagine people's children crossing canal like Israelites without moses. Take one of those guys abroad and dey will grad with first class sef. Naija no kno wetin we get.

Who do we blame now?Yet they ask why international students don't come to Nigerian schools.Imagine asking students who have no where to go to vacate the premises just like that.
