Go to the bank and update your KYC form. If you are 100% sure you didn't sign up for sms notification, send an email to their customer service unit, asking them to disable sms notification since you don't need it.

Get ready for a fight however as they might tell you it's mandated by CBN. You just have to stand your ground. If they are not cooperating, let me know. I might be able to give you some few pointers. Less than a week after I opened my account, I had the sms service removed from my profile.

Banks now nah the way to extort you of ur hand earn money den they do now.Gtb will intentionally load 500 on their Atm and each withdrawal limit is 10k so withdrawing huge amount will require more bank alert charges.

Stanbic will charge you 50 naira for bank deposit of a thousand or more and 4 naira for sms making 54 naira on each transaction.

OK, invisible Wale of Stanbic, please kindly drop back the rate to 280 and increase minimum daily limit to $1000 like ecobank, keystone and I hear GTB has done.

Also please kindly educate me on why Stanbic is finding it difficult to interpret the stamp duty act which clearly states that savings accounts are exempted from stamp duty charges.

I mean it's clearly written in plain English, not 'policy' or 'lawyer's English' right? And yet stanbic head of customer relations says they are waiting for CBN to interpret to them what it means
