Well, we'll see if the Chris Giwa-led board (if or when they fully take over) will retain Siasia. grin

TheGoodJoe:

That is the case but I feel it should change if the player is contributing well in training. Although coaches do not rush changes in teams.

That is why I feel Coach Siasia would have done it differently if he had more time. He already took risk playing Shehu, Amuzie, Etebo and Iheanacho in the first leg.

He went with a more experienced side with some Youths in the second leg.

I do not want to heap much blame on Coach Siasia. Time was not on his side to Coach the team.

I just want to see more cases of coaches trusting the young ones when they are showing better form than the experience players in training and as sub players.

U should know Siasia likes taking risks with young players. He probably felt he had fielded so many young players already so he needed the remaining spots for experienced players so as to attain a balsnce.

Fielding too many young players against Egypt in Cairo or Alexandria sounds like a suicide mission.

Nigeria league Player of the Week (10): Ndifreke Effiong

Ndifreke (left) in action

Abia Warriors utility player Ndifreke Effiong has emerged as the Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) Player of Week 10.

Ndifreke who scored the winner for Abia Warriors in their 2-1 win at Akwa United on Wednesday was chosen ahead of Shooting Stars Sunday Adedeji, who scored a brace in ‘The Oluyole Warriors’ 2-0 home win and Godwin Obaje, whose goal helped Wikki earn a point off hosts Lobi Stars in 1-1 draw.

The Nigeria U23 star's goal made sure Abia Warriors remain unbeaten this season.
He played for Abia Comets before he joined Abia Warriors.

He can play as a full back, midfielder or supporting striker.

Just what I tried explaining in the U-23 thread. Ndifreke is a very good attacking prospect as a left sided midfielder/left winger. Interesting to know he can play the SS role also. He's really an utility player.

But as a left full back, he's very terrible. He's still pretty young though (he's still under 20 yrs).

All these sportlithiefcians and nff top post sef......

Only in nig do we see someone that has failed in a public post having solidrock head, refusing to step down.

Now Giwa takes over. Will the ship escape the stormy course!?

We all should know that alll those who have ever coached eagles arent 100% in charge. New age of managers must be arrived at asap

where do we see people leave their public post just because they failed? Even Blatter had to be sent away kicking and screaming. Nothing that goes on in Nigeria is special, all these things go on else where with a different flavour.

The suicide mission was the starting 11. I supported them like any other se team but in the back of my mind i knew we had been screwed.

Is it the starting eleven of the first leg or the second leg. The first leg was well played and we were in control until the defence went to sleep.

The starting line up I did not like was in the second leg.

The second leg made no sense. Iwobi had proved him self, Siasia hated on Moses because he played to the crowd a little, then Iheanacho the only player with a real shot on target both matches combined. Smh i am still baffled.

I just wanted that clear. I guessed you were talking of the second leg. I felt Sad when I saw the list before the line up.

I still think time affected Coach Siasia's judgment for that game.

Let us see what happens with the coaching position. We need managerial stability.

The most important thing to me is a manager who can deal with personalities.

As for me, we leave Coach Siasia there. He worked in a very short time and made hasty decisions. That was why we did not qualify.

He did not start the qualifiers and Chad pulling out, made it harder.

Coach Siasia plays a good brand of attacking football. His style enables more creative players to blend into the team. He has the right drills to root out players who do not have the stamina to meet up with his philosophy.

It is time we give Coach Siasia a fair chance and not the come and save a bad situation.

Why move on when Coach Siasia has not gotten a fair chance? He is a good coach. Let us give him a fair chance and see if he can deliver.

He got to play two games against the group leaders, who were the highest goal scorers of the group and with the least conceded goals.

That is not enough chance for us to move on

Yes wins against Chad and Tanzinia make the earth shake. Let's not overrate Egypt we had the first game won. I rather give a league coach a chance. They know all about not getting paid, angry players and all that stuff that comes with the job.

I repeat, two games against the group winners is not enough chance to judge Coach Siasia. If Tanzania were such a walkover, Coach Oliseh would have beaten them.

You said the Egypt game was also won, which shows Coach Siasia is a good coach. What is wrong in given him adequate time to prove himself?

Since when did Sunday Oliseh become our measuring stick? That was a chapter we should sweep under the rug. I want a coach that will get out of the way and let their players shine, not a politician.

You made it look as if Tanzania was a walkover. Now your talking politician.

Who does not stand in the way? Westerhoff, Hector Cuper, Diego Simeone, Mourinho, SIR Alex Ferguson, Mancini.

It is part of the game. What matters is that, did Coach Siasia get a fair chance? No he did not.

Why jump him to another without giving him a fair chance?

Judge him after a fair chance. Hector Cuper got to play two friendly games before our games. He did not have wages issue.

Coach Siasia got a sudden call with little time to prepare.

Let us be fair with our judgment.

Egypt beat Tanzania 3-0 at home what is the big deal in that? How many point did Fifa give for that? U making the Egyptians seem like gods they were very beatable and Siasia let politics get in the way of that. I am not saying this to look good this is just how i feel. All those coaches u named knew how to relate with their player, they knew without the players they were nothing.
Fair chance? Please leave sentiments at the door he was a caretaker coach and now his task is over we should have a full search because we can't afford to miss the world cup. This is the most important hire and we should not play around this time.

If he was just a caretaker, then let him have his fair chance. It is as simple as that. Why not give him a fair chance and let us see if he is good or not.

I doubt he will fail but we are always ready to run after another at the slightest chance for failure.

There is no guarantee another Coach will perform miracles. This was why Pinnick sacked Coach Keshi, "We can not afford to not qualify" and see the result.

We neglect the power of continuity, forgetting coaches get better when they learn from their mistakes. Two games against the group leader is not enough.

A fair chance given to Coach Siasia will benefit us than a new coach. It will take him integrating his Olympics squad into the new Super Eagles.

Why not fair to Nigeria? Coach Hector Cuper said he was edgy throughout the game. Coach Siasia led Nigeria to the U20 finals and the Olympics finals. He just won the U23 African Championship.

You agreed he did well in the first game. Let us not pass an opportunity that would be beneficial to us.

Coach Siasia knows his job. There is no guarantee we are running to a better person.

It is unfair to Nigeria not to continue growing. Our sacking managers will not lead to continuity which is required for growth in football.

DAVID OKEREKE MAKES COMPETITIVE DEBUT FOR SPEZIA
https://i1.wp.com/owngoalnigeria.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/03/image-86.jpg?resize=300%2C169
18 year old Nigeria forward David Okereke made his competitive debut for Serie B side Spezia playing the last five minutes of their 1-0 win over Novarra.

Plucked from Spezia nursery team in Nigeria, Football Academy Abuja, he was the star of the youth team of the Serie B side during the prestigious Viareggio Youth Cup scoring four times aside picking up man of the match awards.

Okereke was suppose to travel to Italy with Nigeria U-17 world cup winner Orji Okonkwo but the 17 year old skipped the trip while he made the journey and he is slowly making inroads into the first team set up.

His fine form has already lead to talks of him leading the frontline of Spezia next season but it appears he might even achieve that before the end of the season.

Spezia will be hoping he grows at same pace if not better than Sadiq Umar and Nura Abdullahi who are presently on loan to Serie A side Roma in a deal that could see the Serie B side make more than 4 million pounds if as expected Roma take up the option of buying the duo permanently in the summer.
