While most people believe more sex means more happiness, scientists have a different opinion on this delicate matter. Researchers from the University of Toronto Mississauga have recently conducted a study that eventually revealed a magic number.


Two comprehensive surveys based on data from 25.510 Americans aged 18 to 89 showed that couples who have sex once a week are actually the most happy. Yes, you read it right — just once in a week — any more than that is just excessive. Well, at least scientists say so.

Amy Muise, one of the leading researchers, said:“I do think couples can end up feeling pressure to try to engage in sex as frequently as possible. Once a week is maybe a more realistic goal to set than thinking you have to have sex everyday and that feels overwhelming and you avoid it.

The study showed a linear association between sex and happiness up to a frequency of once a week, but at higher frequencies there is no longer an association. Therefore it is not necessary, on average, for couples to aim to engage in sex as frequently as possible.”

By the way, another study figured out the exact time time sex act should last in order to be considered perfect and whether condom use affects the time of having fun together.
