is rail line only meant for shiping what about conveying ppl to there various destinations go to developed nation train is more or less the most viable means of transport. And dont forget a rome was nt built in a day
There is already an alternative of moving people from Lagos to Calabar via road but no means of moving goods and produce from the north east, south east and south south to the export market of the world via a deep sea port linked to a rail line.

And some people are hallucinating on how buhari will take this dysfunctional enclave to the promise land in eight years.
Keep dreaming.

hearing this from DSP ekwerenmadu is never a surprise to me,this are the people that finished indigbo politically, imaging ekwerenmadu was part of the people that removed indigbo in Nigeria polical system for Igbo is one of the strong political region in this country, they fed them with lies due to there political ambitions, ekwerenmadu emerged as DSP reaching Enugu airport addressing Igbo people said he won that position for Igbo people, being a politician in that position you don't need to claim or use any language in favour of any region despite Nigerian know the tribe you represent,so this current outbost from him is not new,bt my advice to indigbo is ekwerenmadu remain in the Senate for how long now? don't they hv another person that collyfied for that position in his senatorial zone? is he claiming to be the leader of Igbo race? how long will he be using this unguided words to distract the well meaning Igbo people?in this government his the DSP this type of words can cause a lot of civil unrest why can't he resigne his position &settle for Biafra or allign his people with a relevant systems in Nigeria politics.

And for u to say that a development project that is aimed to better the lives of so many ppl in ss and boom the economic activities in that particular zone is of no concern to SE, has to a great extent shown how greed and selfcentered an average ipod can be. same goes for ur hero kanu
Keep ur railway to ur southwest for now. The priority for ss people is a functioning sea port not railway. The 6 ss state, as the chicken that lay the golden egg deserveed to have at least one functioning sea port. The people who their land are pillaged and their water poluted to feed and develop ur region are tired of traveling thousands of miles to clear their goods in ur region.

These people just like to steer and use these ethnic cards when it suits them. Why are we so gullible? Why do we allow ourselves to be used like chess game. This man is just looking for public sympathy and support from SS/SE over senate presidency. He knows Saraki will resign in due time. After that, he needs public support for the position. That strategy will not work.

The Lagos Calabar rail serves Nigeria no useful purpose .importing goods into Lagos ports and shipping them via rail line to the Eastern coast is an economic blunder. The right thing is to use every available funds to develop deep sea ports in Calabar and link Calabar to the north and Abuja via a rail line.
You are trying to cause hbp for some of our siblings by telling the truth.

Reckless and irresponsible leaders like this man are only able to keep their.people in line for their support with bigotry and tribalism since they have nothing to offer their people even after 16 years in public office and leadership position.

Exactly what did his people benefited from his party and his leadership position after 16 years in office even till this very second.

Was the federal government responsible for his inability and abdication of responsibility when other people in his presence took away $12 billion project from his people.?

Sadly, leaders and followers in that region drink from the same bigoted and polluted well..

ukomko:
The Deputy Senate President, Chief Ike Ekweremadu, on Sunday accused the President Muhammadu Buhari led government of provoking Ndigbo.
Ekweremadu, representing Enugu West Constituency, said that until the leadership of Nigeria learn to respect Nigbo and ensure that equity and justice prevailed, the country can never be the same.

The Deputy Senate President, who spoke in Enugu while addressing people of Eziagu council area of Enugu State during a solidarity visit, said that despite the contributions of Ndigbo in the development of Nigeria, “we are being provoked everyday by the government of this country”.

According to him, “let me remind you that we are going through the difficult period in Igbo land. As Ndigbo, we are going through trying period, we are being provoked everyday by the government of this country in the way they treat our people, especially the marginalization going on at the federal level by the federal government.

“We are also aware of the contributions of our people towards the development of this country. The Nigeria Movie Industry, which one of the major exports we have, Igbo’s pioneered that industry; in sports, Igbo’s are all over the world doing the country proud. When you see Nigeria national team playing, 80 percent most times are Igbos and we are happy to do that”.

Sen. Ekweremadu who said that Ndigbo were more Nigerian than any tribe, disclosed that in all remote villages in Kano, Kaduna, Maiduguri and everywhere, “you will see Igbos who are patent medical dealers, you will see Igbos selling plastic, you will see Igbos providing jobs not only to their people but to the rest of Nigeria.”

He said Ndigbo had done so much to the country and deserved some respect, stressing that until “we get our respect, Nigeria will never be the same.

“So, any person who thinks that Igbos will be relegated and there will be peace in this country is joking. We believe in equity, we believe in justice.

“This country is big enough for everybody. Nigeria needs energy and ingenuity of Igbos, they need our creativity, they need the enterprise of Igboman and we can combine the attributes with the other tribes and Nigeria will be great.”

The deputy President of the Senate who spoke with passion said Igbos will never accept the situation and that indeed no tribes would be excluded from the governance of this country because this country belonged to all of us.

He said it may be dark today but there will light at the end of the tunnel.

“We have already left Egypt and we will never go back to Egypt. Definitely, we will get to the promise land unlike the people of Israel; all of us will be alive when we get to the promise land.

“So, I am not shaking and don’t be afraid my people, we believe in this country, we believe in free enterprise, we believe in justice and we also believe in equity and that, we ensure that this country will get”.

He thanked the chairman of Eziagu LGA, Mr. Chukwudi F. Ezinwa for uniting all the people of Eziagu council area, stressing that in a short period, he had performed beyond his expectation.

He promises to work with him to change the story of the council area in everything that humans being could do.

He said that throughout the trying period of his election, Eziagu people stood by him to the extent that some traditional rulers were dethroned.

Earlier in his remark, the Eziagu Council Chairman, Mr. Ezinwa appealed to the deputy President of the Senate to ensure the completion of federal roads government embarked upon in the council, especially those roads that erosion had cut-off.

http://biafrasay.com/p/320423/fg-provoking-ndigbo-everyday-ekweremadu

If only this was the voice and channel calling for Biafra, the Nigerian government would have sat up, instead they are busy buying jeeps at double price.

If South-South and South-East senators come together and make a declaration that they want out of Nigeria unless Nigeria is restructured to run as a true federal state where each state fends for itself and contribute an agreeable sum to the federal government for maintenance of the armed forces and security of our territorial areas, It would have gathered sufficient momentum for a any type of table discussion (round or square) but no; Politicians just sit in that silly Abuja, steal from government, destroy the lives of young girls, go to the chambers drunk while paying more attention to CCT trials than getting anything done.

Igbo people should ask Ekweremadu why he's saying these now!
He's foreseen his exist and consequence of his act, this is orubbebe in action. He has started instigating unaware indigbo against the country which he has privilege to serve with nothing to show to his people as achievement than selfishness. You are going down with Saraki and nothing will happen except you go to jail.
