You're too dull to know that the FG has expanse of lands across the country it can use as it deems fit. the govt will not take any individual's land for this purpose.

You have a very long way to go in politics and governance. Your ignorance stinks to high heavens.
All the lands in the various states are under the control of the state Gov and not FG.BTW FG owned lands are our common patrimony and should no be used to appease any tribe or group of businessmen!!!Better tell your peple that this bill or even if it manages to become law will never be applicable in the east. I can assure you of that.If you people want to continue from where Othman Dan fodio failed ,we are ready for you

why not propose alternative options instead of criticizing this brilliant move? undecided
if it were such an intelligent move , it would have other alternatives, a Cost benefit analysis
,SWOT etc.But since it has none of these, the "Intelligence" of this idea would only be visible to
the stupid, brain dead or zombies.

OP, you've made good points and I wholeheartedly support the grazing bill.

Those who oppose the bill, can you please suggest an alternative to ending the continuous clashes between the farmers and Fulani herdsmen?

What the govt is attempting to do is what is obtainable in developed countries of the world. You do not see their cattle farmers with their cattle on the street.
the alternative would be to implement the grazing bill compulsorily in the SW only. And made an option to the rest regions. Since the yorubas are accommodating I believe there would be more peace if their land is to be used!!

There you have it ladies and gentlemen - the weak link in the southern regional chain.
How In God's name did we get this kind of unfortunate region as neighbors?
The guy was even making Comparisons to harmless traders who buy Lands at exorbitant prices and are often at the mercy of the state governments.
And the herdsmen have proven from history to be unyielding and to overreach regardless of compromise.
The Ss/se is In serious trouble of existential proportions if we do not remove ourselves from these fifth columnists and perpetual traitors who don't mind selling us all in the name of political sophistication and temporary political gain.

The FG propose to give them portions of lands for grazing so they wont eat your farm produce anymore. What else do you want? ShukuShuku, there are FG clearly marked lands in every state of the federation apart from the fact that it has the right to make use of any part of the state's land for its project.

You are a selfish man. If the fulani's were igbo traders would u support a bill restricting them to the east alone? If the fulani's cant raise their cattle in any part of the country, its like trampling upon their human rights. Cattle rearing is their business and they have the right to live and do business any where in Nigeria. The FG has made a plan to settle them in specific grazing areas across the country so there will be peace
Nobody stops them from raising their cow in any part of the country what we are asking is the method they are taking to achieve this.

Cattle rearing is not a federal government business it'spersonal so what stops them from renting a piece of land restrict their cows and respect their host?

If it was any other tribe that is carrying out this killings do you think the federal government will go as far as allocating lands?

Re: Why We Must All Support The Grazing Bill For The Fulani's by Litmus:
In clear cases of much death in the wake of Herders, this is an opportunity for the government and all right thinking Nigerians to put lives of ordinary voiceless Nigerians ahead of all the innuendo of tribe, politics and economics. The magnitude and consequences of these deaths goes beyond the games Niralanders want to play in pretense of political sophistication. Put aside all those secret smiles behind your computer screen as you type one thing but mean another for this issue goes beyond not wanting the proposed legislation because of your fears of secrete Fulani agenda to colonies other peoples lands or spread Islam and, on the other hand, beyond you wanting the legislation to go ahead because of your Fulani machismo and secret pleasure at what you think Buhari means for you him being your tribesman. In cases such as this, justice and human-rights clearly trumps all that political game or we are kidding ourselves about nationhood or living in the 21st century.

If Herders moving cattle around the place results in deaths of masses of people, ban the practice. Forget the past, this is now, moving forward and working towards a just and equitable society. In the face of the higher priority of safeguarding lives, there is no longer room for the primordial tribal sentiments mentioned above or being being held to ransomed by such.

op I'm yoruba too, from ondo state. you need to see how annoying this fulanis are whenever they take there cattle across the road, causing accident in some instances.

they litter the streets with their cow dungs. it's so annoying.

you may give your ancestral land to them wherever you come from but it ain't happening here in my state.

these people are business men and they should acquire land in their domain to rear their cattle.

the FG has no right and will never be able to enforece the taking over of Igbo lnad in the east by Fulani herdmen!! I trust the IPOB and Niger-delta militants to team up and teach them some lessons afterall no one has a monopoly over violence.

If the FG wants to solve the problem, they should go ahead and ask ther various state governments in the north to build ranches for them as iis obtainable in other parts of the world.Alternatively since we are told sambisa forest is as big as some states, they can be allocated that frest so they can graze as mucha s they like with it.

Can I start a pig farm on any piece of land somewhere in the north? And if the owner challenges me I will kill him because I have the right to do business anywhere in Nigeria.

Since it's a private business the sensible thing I will do is look for a land to rent rather than kill whoever opposes me.

The cattle rearing is their business and the grazing field is a form of intervention from the FG to support them in grazing their cows. Just like the FG supports every farmers will loans and fertilizers to boost their farming. it is common sense and i supporr the grazing license too cool

The FG shud provide grazing field in the north, thats the solution to the problem. no igbo man got land for free in the north and federal govt didn't provide any free land for the igbos to build houses etc aswell. Now why shud we allow an idiiot to demand for free land in the EAST? if the fulani cant buy land and build ranches in the east, to hell.
The FG owns all the land your parents built on. If they discover a natural resources on your street tomorrow, they will bring in bulldozers to dismantle all buildings on your street. They might consider you for compensation if you have the C.OF.O. Thats the simple truth. You cant tell the FG how it should use its land, air space and water ways. That is why they are government. The grazing fields will be provided and there is nothing u can do. If u protest any how, i kukuma trust our trigger happy security forces to do their job grin

The north has very vast expanse of land.

The grazing reserves/ranches or whatever should be cited in the north.

Only cattle for sale should be shipped down south.

No part of eastern land will be given to the fulani as grazing fields because none has been given to our Igbo brothers in the north.

My friend, let them stay in their states and rear their cattle. No one is against that. There is an abundance of arable grazing land in Northern Nigeria. Cattle rearers are business people like myself and I have NEVER received any type of preferential treatment from the government for doing my business. Rather I've experienced situations where I am constantly being harassed, harangued and over-taxed just because I find myself doing business in a particular location.

Why would you take my land and give to a Fulani business man? Not just that, you also create a separate kingdom for them where it is forbidden for anyone to interfere in whatever goes on inside there. I do not know how much you people were paid by the evil APC government to come and launder this evil bill from the pit of hell. Whatever it is, it will be met with VERY STIFF resistance especially from Igboland. No inch, I repeat, no inch of Igboland will be ceded to any Fulani cattle rearers by this wicked Fulani government. We're getting ready for them. The dogs and the baboons are already warming up to soak themselves in Fulani blood. A word should be enough for the wise.

Your lord and personal Saviour Mazi Nnamdi kanu threatened more fire and brimstones. He is bitting his finger in regrets in a 2 by 2 cell at kuje prisons at the moment cheesy Their is nothing like Igbo land, yoruba or hausa land in front of the constitution. The federal Govt owns all territory within the 926, 568km sq of Nigerian Land, Air and water ways. This is why the FG owns resources in every state of the country including oil, gold, solid minerals etc. Dont let ignorance cost u your life. If you claim to resist this move by the FG to create grazing sites so as to end confrontations between farmers and herders, you are nothing but an enemy of the state and will be treated like one.
