Just my own piece of advice on dress code for the interview: a pair of good covered shoe plus belt to match, good trouser (not jeans/chinos), good shirt and tie and ask for Gods favour. A guy almost missed his interview during ma time cos of what you mentioned above cos u can't predict ur interviewers definition of smart casual. more so only guys in tie made it true in my batch. Don't ask me how I got to know cos am a detailed observer. lastly it is better for them asking u to remove ur Tie than for u to dress as if u are going for ur friends party(no offense pls).
