Good morning Nairalanders am ikwerreboy by nick name.

Don't worry am not telling long stories, i will just go straight to the point.

Now as a member of PDP am concerned about our party taking back power from the Apc come 2019 and by my membership i have the right to contribute my little knowledge to the welfare of the party.

It is all over the internet/newspaper stand that the pdp have zoned President to the north and then V.p to the south (south east).

Before i state my reason i want to let the pdp know that by the above zoing pattern come 2019 presidential election, the pdp is in for a huge defeat by the Apc.

Don't be quick to condemn me pls see my reasons ad then prove me wrong :

While the zoning of the President to the north is perfect, the zoning of the V. P to the south east is big disaster to the party.

1. With the Party presidential candidate coming from the north, President buhari's vote (Thats if he would run for a second term) will be divided between the Apc and Pdp (Apc 60%, pdp 40%) which is perfect like i stated.

2. Down south, an average yoruba man will not leave Osinbanjo and vote for an igbo man and by so doing pdp would probably secure only 10% of the south west votes while apc will get 90%. Am not an ethnic bigot am just trying to be realistic even though am neither Yoruba nor igbo. #Am a Niger deltan from Ikwerre in Rivers State.

3. Also in the south south, the people of the Niger delta though are mostly pdp not all trust me not all will throw their support to an igbo candidate unlike the way the igbos supported jonathan, forget whether Niger delta is pdp or not when you visit the Niger delta itself and discuss the igbos with them, their responds will explain to you better. By that the pdp would get 70% of Niger delta vote while apc get 30%

Summary:
APC. PDP
North: 68 32
South west: 90 10
South south: 30 70
South east : 20 80

Remember southeast voting strength is the lowest in Nigeria

Why PDP needs an Edo candidate.

With an Edo candidate you will get:

Remember the Edo and Yoruba are have so many things in common especially their similar names which has an advantage in getting votes from the yoruba block if pdp is to choose an Edo candidate.

Don't 4get Edo's are Niger deltans also.

See what would be the result :

APC. PDP
North: 68 32
South west: 65 35
South south: 15 85
South east. 20. 80

Total: 188 242

Recall that Buhari (Apc) won Jonathan(Pdp) with 2million plus votes even when 70% yoruba votes went for Apc the whole north except some middle bet states.

By 2019, APC would have soo messed up that even if u present a Senegalese as presidential candidate and to run against apc, he will be voted in

I think we should first of all work with the present government as Nigerians, that we are, not party afflictions, to bring about economic stability and growth.

Your analogy is so flawed that I make bold to state your kind are not welcomed in the PDP.
Jonathan wouldn't have lasted 2yrs if not for Igbo support. Now you think a region where PDP has its biggest support would still support PDP if the vp position was zoned to another ethnic group?

OP, no need claiming Ikwerre to buttress your Edo agenda, because you've already exposed yourselve as Edo pure and true. But get this into your head, Edo is inconsequential as far as South-South politics is concerned. Edo is a just a paper weight in Nigeria and can never be a threat to Igbo interest. When we need help, we know those to look up to, from the north down south.
Lastly: Thank God this is just your thought and only ends here on nairaland. Thought as this even in the political circle would be laughed off as 'joke of the year'.

Guy if u be politician u don fail whole fully. With your analysis, APC will win again and now with big margin.

Edo na Edo forget Edo be like yoruba. Go see Edo among yorubas in offices n markets, they never accept them as partly yoruba but generally termed omo bende abi omo nna even though we know it's wrong.

Lol really? for the past 20 years GEJ was the only non Edo politician from the South South to come up on top. In PDP we had Aneinh,etc and in APC we have Oyegun. How are we relevant when we have produce two Vps for Nigeria? Nonsense!

Politics is about interests, not sentiments.

The only issue here is the Edolite may also be a northerner, in which case that would mean its a northern northern ticket.
