Congratulations on your pregnancy.

The composition of pregnacare includes: folic acid, iron, vit c, b vits (multivitamin s)...so basically your routine drugs has same things as pregnacare.
No hospital would issue you pregnacare cos of the cost so if you wish to use that instead you would have to buy it yourself.

What is compulsory is taking the necessary drugs not the brand of drugs. Pregnacare is just a brand.

Also, before now I normally sleep on my stomach and I am finding it difficult to change sleeping positions. Any clues to how I could get used to sleeping on my side?? My mum is freaking out about it so much.....lol.

It is not compulsory to take pregnacare original, That is if you can make up for the required vitamins through your diet! The reason its prescribed is because we may not be able to eat "right" but if you are sure your diet is up to per! Then just stick with what the doctor has prescribed you.

Please the sooner you start practicing side sleep the better! I was a tummy sleeper too, found it difficult to adjust that even when I try before dawn I'm back to my tummy again! What I did was to use pillows!
So many pillows to support my self that my DH didnt have space to sleep on the bed again! so he offered to be my "support" i literally slept in his arms with my back to him till I got accustomed to side sleeping. Please the sooner the better! Take care and congrats.

First of all, Congrats mama...
When I got pregnant, I was taking pregnacare before I started my ANC visits. When I started, the doctor asked me to stop taking pregnacare and gave me the same drugs you mentioned. Her reason was that the composition of the prenatal vitamins in pregnacare was/is not enough for pregnant women in Africa/Nigeria. Especially the folic acid and iron.

As for sleeping on your stomach, I slept on mine till I was 6months pregnant (not saying you should do same oh), personally, and from what I've read, your body would just tell you when you need to change positions, but it won't hurt to start practising it sha.
For me, my body just told me when to start switching (when I was beginning to get uncomfortable sleeping on my tummy; and back too...)
So, just relax...

Very possible! My neighbour was told she was having a girl but the baby turned out being a boy! Sadly she has shopped for all things pink! And the lil guy ended up getting dressed as a girl for the first week of his birth! My take is the sonogram person made an error! Though some say it was a supernatural event, doubt it though! (Strange coming from someone that believes in miracles ) cos the first swimmer that gets to the egg seals the gender.

Yes, it happened to a friend. The scan showed boy but thank God she bought unisex things because she ended up having a girl. Some people who do scan are not professional sonographers, so they might interpret the sex wrongly

Some say newborn skin needs nothing! Some say ori is better, others swear by ordinary Vaseline.

I used both oil and lotion, I massage my baby's body with oil after each bath and then apply the lotion.

Yes coconut oil can last to a month and still be good.

Don't know about sebamed and aveeno I am a chicco mama! Used it from my sons birth and loving it till date.Your baby's skin will choose what it likes when you apply whatever you decide to go with.

She had about three scans. It was at 36weeks she discovered it was a girl...

No idea, She kept saying all the time she did scan the man told her male! She used only one hospital so am guessing the same person did all the scan. Are you doubting yours? You could try scanning elsewhere.
